Globally, Consumer Goods & Services practice works to develop value growth strategies for its clients and infuse AI & GenAI to help deliver top their business imperatives i.e., revenue growth & cost reduction.

The Decision Scientist builds AI solutions for industries and functions that can enable automated decisions as well as augment decision-making for business managers. These AI solutions can help reinvent an enterprise, offering significant time savings, productivity boosts, enhanced revenue and customer experience. The Decision Scientist has a big role in ensuring that AI drives sustainable value in today’s enterprises.

What you would do in this role

A CGS domain experienced and data science consultant is responsible to help the clients with designing & delivering AI solutions. He/she should be strong in Consumer Goods domain, AI fundamentals and should have good hands-on experience working with the following:

  • Data Analysis & Presentation: Capable of analyzing extensive datasets and synthesizing insights for presentation to key decision-makers. Expert experience in working with Consumer Goods data sources, such as – Nielsen, IRI, EPOS, TPM, Financial / P & L, etc.
  • AI & Analytics Expertise: Proficient in evaluating the AI and analytics maturity within the consumer goods sector, crafting data-driven solutions across various business domains.
  • Value-Driven Solutions: Skilled in designing strategies that deliver enduring and substantial benefits to clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Employs a structured methodology to dissect complex problems, foresee potential challenges, and delineate a project’s critical trajectory.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Guides the development and execution of data science initiatives, oversees project outcomes, nurtures team growth, and contributes to thought leadership.
  • Client Engagement: Maintains a robust, cooperative relationship with clients, serving as the chief liaison and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Innovative Solution Development: Spearheads the creation and deployment of bespoke advanced analytics solutions, utilizing Accenture’s cutting-edge platforms and tools for significant business impact.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilizes languages like Python, PySpark, R, SQL for data wrangling, analysis, and machine learning model creation, ensuring solutions are finely tuned to client requirements.
  • Cloud Technology: Harnesses cloud services (Azure, GCP, AWS) for solution deployment.
  • Narrative Skills: Transforms data into compelling narratives for stakeholder engagement.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively seeks skill enhancement and certification in data science and machine learning.

Who are we looking for?

  • Educational Background: Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or an MBA with a specialization in Data Science from a top-tier institution.
  • Industry Experience & Acumen: Brings 7-9 years of direct data science experience, particularly within the Consumer Goods sector. Possesses a robust understanding of the consumer goods and services landscape, with the ability to integrate this knowledge with analytical solutions.
  • Leadership & Client Interaction: Proven track record in client-facing roles and leading sizable project teams.
  • Practical Problem-Solving: Demonstrated capability in addressing real-world issues using Data & AI.
  • Analytics Expertise: Deep knowledge of a broad spectrum of analytics solutions (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive, generative) and experience in developing models through machine learning, deep learning and Gen AI technologies.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Expert in analytical solutions specific to the consumer goods sector, such as Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Route-to-Market (RTM), Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), Demand Forecasting, etc.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, PySpark, SQL, and platforms like Databricks for data analysis and model development.
  • Analytical Techniques: Well-versed in both traditional statistical methods and modern machine learning techniques, including deep learning models.
    • Traditional techniques like – Linear/logistic regression, multivariate statistical analysis, time series techniques, fixed/Random effect modelling.
    • Machine learning techniques like - Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, XG boost, decision trees, clustering etc.
    • Knowledge of Deep learning modeling techniques – like RNN, CNN etc.
  • Optimization Knowledge: Familiarity with optimization methods
    • Exact optimization – Linear, Non-linear optimization techniques
    • Evolutionary optimization – Both population and search-based algorithms
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, with a preference for candidates familiar with visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, adept at engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: A proactive team member who is solution-focused and capable of mentoring colleagues.
  • Cloud Expertise: Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Certifications: Data Science certifications are desirable.
  • LLM Knowledge: Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and tools like ChatGPT, Llama 2, Claude 2, Hugging Face is advantageous.
