What would you do? The Commercial Management Team Lead provides end to end commercial assurance for DISTRIBUTION CLIENT by combining strong governance with data led insights to protect revenue, reduce risk, and support predictable delivery. The Commercial Management Team Lead is accountable for commercial governance, financial assurance, and data driven insight across DISTRIBUTION CLIENT delivery workstreams. The role ensures accurate engineering claims , contract adherence, SLA alignment, and regulatory compliance, while using delivery and Business data analytics to provide early visibility of risks, variances, and optimization opportunities.
What are we looking for? • Strong experience in commercial management, business analysis, or financial operations • Proven data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI, reporting tools) • Experience supporting utilities or regulated infrastructure delivery • Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail • Excellent stakeholder and governance communication skills • Lead and mentor commercial management analysts supporting DISTRIBUTION CLIENT. • Review outputs for quality, accuracy, and consistency. • Develop data literacy and analytical capability within the commercial team. • Drive standard ways of working across all DISTRIBUTION CLIENT commercial activities.
Roles and Responsibilities: The role supports commercial management across the following DISTRIBUTION CLIENT delivery areas: • LV / HV applications & assessments • Engineering design review & technical assurance • Job pack preparation and validation • Field readiness support and workflow coordination • Back office operational support and data services • Managed service delivery under defined SLAs Data Analysis & Commercial Insights (Core Focus) • Analyze delivery, financial, and volume data to identify: o Revenue leakage risks o Under recovery / over delivery scenarios o Demand volatility and trend shifts o SLA and throughput risks with commercial impact • Create insight led MI packs linking: o Volumes vs revenue o Delivery effort vs engineering claims assumptions o Productivity vs margin indicators • Provide actionable insights to service delivery and leadership. Commercial MI, Dashboards & Reporting • Own and maintain commercial dashboards covering: o Invoiced vs delivered volumes o Invoice accuracy and cycle time o Revenue, cost, and variance trends o Rework, rejections, and leakage indicators • Ensure reports are data validated, reproducible, and audit safe. • Present commercial insights in weekly ops and monthly governance forums. Commercial Governance Across DISTRIBUTION CLIENT Workstreams • Own commercial oversight for DISTRIBUTION CLIENT delivery activities across all in scope workstreams. • Ensure services delivered are commercially covered, correctly categorised, and contract compliant. • Act as escalation point for commercial queries from Service Delivery Leads. Invoicing, Revenue Assurance & Evidence Management • Lead preparation and validation of DISTRIBUTION CLIENT invoices with line level evidence. • Reconcile delivered volumes (applications, assessments, designs, outputs) with contractual engineering claims rules. • Own invoice accuracy, correctness of pricing, and audit traceability. • Resolve invoice challenges, rejections, and data discrepancies proactively. Change Control & Demand Variations • Maintain a controlled change log with volume, effort, and pricing impact. • Ensure all changes are approved and contractually protected before engineering claims. Cross Functional Collaboration • Work closely with: Service Delivery Leads (delivery vs engineering claims alignment) o Finance teams (revenue recognition, accruals) o Data / MI teams (volume and performance data) o DISTRIBUTION CLIENT stakeholders (commercial clarifications) • Ensure delivery data,operational realityBE
