A professional in SAP BW/4HANA Data Modeling & Development with BCS (Business Consolidation System) Add-on is a specialized consultant responsible for designing, building, and managing enterprise-level data warehousing solutions and financial consolidation processes on the SAP BW/4HANA platform.
This role combines traditional data modeling skills with advanced financial consolidation capabilities (successor to SEM-BCS), optimizing for speed and automation using SAP HANA database technology.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Architecture: Design and implement data models using Advanced DataStore Objects (aDSOs), CompositeProviders, and InfoObjects within the Eclipse-based BW Modeling Tools (BWMT).
BCS Consolidation Setup: Configure and maintain BCS/4HANA to automate financial consolidation processes, including intercompany eliminations, investment consolidation, and currency translation.
Data Acquisition & ETL: Develop ETL processes using DataSources, Transformations, and Data Transfer Processes (DTPs) to extract data from S/4HANA or non-SAP sources.
Financial Data Integration: Implement Direct Read of Reported Data to read financial data directly from BW InfoProviders without replicating it into the consolidation aDSO.
Performance Optimization: Utilize HANA-optimized processes (SQLScript routines in transformations, LSA++ architecture) to improve loading speeds and data processing.
Reporting & Analytics: Build BW Queries to support financial reporting and integrate with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and Analysis for Office

Technical Skills & Competencies:-
SAP BW/4HANA: Deep knowledge of modern BW objects (aDSO, CompositeProvider), BWMT in Eclipse, and Process Chains.
BCS/4HANA Add-on: Proficiency in the BCS/4HANA Consolidation Workbench, data monitoring, validation rules, and specialized consolidation functions (capital consolidation, equity method).
SAP HANA & SQL: Understanding of HANA in-memory database concepts, SQLScripting for complex transformations, and AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures).
Financial Consolidation Knowledge: Strong understanding of legal (IFRS/HGB) and management consolidation requirements.
Data Integration (ODP): Expertise in using Operational Data Provisioning (ODP) to extract data from SAP sources.15 years full time education
