The Opportunity:
As a Senior Manager in Digital Manufacturing & Operations, you will lead high-profile transformation engagements that revolutionize how products are made and delivered. You will be the spearhead of multi-million-dollar programs, working directly with client executives and plant leaders to identify opportunities for operational breakthroughs and implement the solutions that make them a reality. Lead End-to-End Digital Transformations: Take full ownership of complex projects that digitize and optimize manufacturing operations. You’ll develop digital manufacturing strategies, roadmap new operating models, and guide cross-functional teams to deploy solutions such as smart factory systems, AI/ML-driven analytics, robotics, and autonomous production lines. From initial assessment and business case, through pilot and full-scale rollout, you’ll ensure initiatives deliver measurable improvements in throughput, quality, cost, safety, and sustainability.
Drive Innovation with Emerging Tech: Stay at the forefront of Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies. You will architect and implement next-generation solutions agentic AI ,self-optimizing operations, or deploying advanced IoT sensors and digital twins. As a thought leader, you’ll evaluate and introduce new technologies (AI, automation, data analytics, cloud platforms) that can transform manufacturing processes and give our clients a competitive edge.
Manage Client Relationships & Strategy: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives in manufacturing and supply chain. You will collaborate with client leaders to understand their biggest operational challenges and design tailored strategies to address them. Acting as the engagement lead, you’ll ensure our solutions align with the client’s strategic goals – whether it’s a productivity turnaround at a network of plants, a rapid digital response to supply disruptions, or a transition to more sustainable operations. Your role includes managing stakeholder expectations, providing informed counsel on industry best practices, and securing buy-in for change at all levels of the organization.
Mentor Teams & Ensure Delivery Excellence: Lead high-performing teams of consultants, digital specialists, and client staff to achieve project goals. You’ll coach and develop talent through our apprenticeship model, guiding team members in structured problem-solving, advanced analytics, and effective client communication. You are responsible for project planning, quality control, and value realization – making sure we not only envision bold solutions but also execute them flawlessly on the factory floor. In short, you will cultivate a collaborative, high-expectations team culture that inspires everyone to deliver their best work and develop rapidly.
Expand Our Business Impact: As a senior leader, you will play an active role in growing our practice. You’ll identify new opportunities where our interdisciplinary expertise can solve client problems – be it scaling a successful pilot globally, extending into adjacent operational areas (e.g. supply chain, product development), or pioneering new service offerings at the intersection of digital technology and manufacturing. You will work with firm leadership on proposals and thought leadership, contributing your insights on trends like autonomous operations, AI agents in manufacturing, and the future of Industry 4.0 to strengthen our positioning in the market.
What We’re Looking For – Is This You?
Proven Industry & Consulting Experience: ~10-15 years of experience in manufacturing, operations excellence, and/or related consulting roles. You have led major improvement or digital transformation initiatives in sectors such as Consumer Products, Pharmaceuticals, Automotive, Industrial Equipment, or similar. Hands-on experience with large-scale deployment of Industry 4.0 technologies – for example, implementing a new Manufacturing Execution System across multiple plants, launching an AI-based predictive maintenance program, or scaling an automation/robotics rollout – is highly valued.
Operational Excellence & Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain operations – you might be certified in Lean Six Sigma or have implemented TPM/Lean programs that delivered significant performance gains. You understand factory-floor systems and emerging digital tools: IoT platforms, advanced analytics, automation & control systems, AI/ML in production, etc. – and, critically, you know how to apply these in real industrial environments to solve problems. Familiarity with leading smart manufacturing solutions (e.g. MES, digital twin, AI-based process control, robotics) and modern methodologies (Agile, DevOps in an OT context) is expected.
Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage senior stakeholders. You have successfully guided project teams and perhaps coached managers or operational leaders in past roles5 6. You combine sharp analytical thinking with empathy and strong communication, enabling you to influence C-suite executives as well as engage effectively with engineers and shop-floor personnel. You are adept at navigating organizational change – from building the case for transformation to training users and sustaining impact.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: A self-starter who proactively seeks out opportunities to drive improvement and growth. You may have played a role in business development, such as expanding accounts or contributing to thought leadership (writing white papers, speaking at industry forums). You stay updated on industry trends – whether it’s the rise of agentic AI in manufacturing or the latest in supply chain resilience – and you’re excited to bring those insights to clients. You are equally comfortable exploring big-picture strategy with a CEO and diving into technical details with engineers to ensure solutions work in practice.
Education: An excellent academic record with a Master’s or higher in Engineering, Operations Management, Business (MBA), or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g. PMP, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) are a plus.
