Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and efficiency of software applications through both manual and automated testing practices.

  • Independently manage and execute comprehensive testing activities with minimal supervision.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing efforts to meet project timelines and quality objectives.
  • Perform requirements analysis, test case design, test execution, results analysis, and detailed reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize automated testing frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Identify suitable test cases for automation and contribute to the overall automation strategy.
  • Conduct API, web services, desktop, and web application testing using tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
  • Review test scripts, plans, and reports to ensure quality and alignment with project requirements.
  • Identify, document, track, and support resolution of defects while investigating root causes of software issues.
  • Contribute to project risk assessment, risk tracking, and mitigation planning.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to uphold quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support and enhance CI/CD pipeline integration and automation processes.
  • Track and analyze QA metrics such as test execution progress, defect density, and defect status.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, and QA demos.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, testing tools, and automation technologies, recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Provide proactive feedback and continuous improvement suggestions throughout the testing lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively in uncertain or evolving environments.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, testing processes, and development lifecycles.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium and/or Katalon Studio.
  • Experience with API and web service testing using tools like Postman and SoapUI.
  • Experience with Desktop and Web application testing.
  • Familiarity with BrowserStack or similar cross-browser testing platforms.
  • Knowledge of SQL scripting.
  • Experience with Source Control systems such as Git and implementation of Page Object Model (POM).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline orchestration and automation integration.
  • Experience with test and project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, XRAY, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Computing, or any related IT field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ISTQB certification or other automation testing certifications are an advantage.
