Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

This role is responsible for driving adidas brand impact through volleyball and golf sports marketing partnerships in China, while enabling category relevance and growth in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position ensures effective management, activation, and commercialization of key federation, team, and athlete relationships, while strengthening adidas positioning as a leading sports brand in professional segments.

The role plays a critical part in:

  • Driving key volleyball partnerships (with a focus on CVA) to build brand credibility and a strong presence across both professional and grassroots volleyball.
  • Building long-term, China-specific sports marketing strategies for golf, while exploring partnerships beyond athletes to expand brand presence in relevant communities.
  • Identifying and onboarding new partners and athletes across volleyball, golf, and other specialist sports.

Key Responsibilities

1. Partner Management & Service

  • Serve as the main contact for volleyball and golf partners (teams, federations, athletes, etc.)
  • Ensure high-quality partner service, including product support, payment processes, daily communication, etc.
  • Deliver premium service experience for partners during events, tournaments, activations, etc.

2. Partnership Strategy & Planning

  • Develop mid- to long-term sports marketing plans for:
    • Volleyball (focus on CVA ecosystem)
    • Golf (build China-specific roadmap for specialty category)
  • Align with Global, BU, Comms, and Sales teams to ensure strategic consistency
  • Lead annual planning for key partnerships and athletes

3. Partnership Development (New Sign & Renew)

  • Identify, scout, and recruit new:
    • Volleyball athletes and partners
    • Golf athletes and partners
    • Other specialist sports partners
  • Lead evaluation and decision-making for renewals and new signings
  • Consolidate and manage partner portfolio for major sports moments

4. Key Partnership Activation

  • Lead activation planning and execution for key partnerships, including:
    • CVA (China Volleyball Association)
    • Volleyball clubs
  • Collaboration with Partner Activation and Brand Comms teams
  • Ensure full utilization of contractual rights

5. Volleyball – Strategic Focus

  • CVA Service Upgrade
    • Optimize communication with CVA and improve collaboration with product teams
  • CVA Impact Enhancement
    • Develop storytelling strategy, authentic and relatable activations
    • Build pre-active, reactive, and corporate communication plans
  • National Team Support
    • Support key initiatives such as:
      • CCS product creation
      • LA28 Olympic preparation
      • CVA related events
  • Club & Youth Activation
    • Support volleyball clubs, juniors’ teams and communities’ partnership
    • Integrate adidas Kids initiatives to drive youth engagement

6. Golf – Strategic Focus

  • Build a long-term China golf sports marketing roadmap
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with BU, Sales, and Comms
  • Identify and onboard new golf athletes and partners
  • Support category growth through targeted activation strategies

7. Campaign & Business Support

  • Drive product storytelling through sports partnerships
  • Contribute to category business growth through Partner visibility

8. Budget Management

  • Manage budget allocation and ensure efficient use
