We are seeking a talented and passionate UI Designer (m/f/d) to join our dynamic startup in the robotics domain. As a UI designer (m/f/d), you will play a critical role in shaping the user interface for our high-level robot software platform. This platform enables system integrators and operators to program robots and create automation solutions with ease and efficiency. Your creative vision and technical expertise will be instrumental in delivering a seamless user experience that empowers our customers to leverage the full potential of robotics and automation.

Your Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with our software development teams to gather requirements and translate them into intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for our robot software platform
User experience: Apply various UX design techniques. We use user stories, personas, customer journey mappings and are open for others from your experience
Ability to work with complex data and inputs: Being able to cluster and structure this information together with the design + product team is crucial for this position
Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs and preferences
Create wireframes, prototypes, and design mock-ups to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions
Develop a consistent design language and visual style guide that aligns with our brand identity and usability best practices
Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders, incorporating usability principles and industry trends
Work closely with frontend developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs, providing guidance and support throughout the development process
Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, UI/UX techniques, and emerging technologies in the robotics domain
Advocate for the user by championing user-centered design principles and ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in the user interface
Creating animations to visualize work-flows, processes etc.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's or Master's in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
Min. 2 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer
Proficiency in design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience in creating and maintaining a Design system in Figma
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices in UI/UX design
Ability to create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
Solid understanding of frontend development technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to effectively collaborate with developers
Experience in animation and post-production using Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects
Excellent English communication skills and ability to present design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
A portfolio showcasing your design work and demonstrating your ability to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces
Availability to mainly work on-site at our Munich headquarters

Beneficial Skills

Work experience within the robotics, automation, or software development industry
Experience with frontify UI asset integration is a plus
