Full Stack Developer and Cloud Engineer (m/f/d)
Agile Robots
Your Responsibilities
- Support of the data collection pipeline: with focus on upload, cloud ingestion, and downstream access.
- Design and implement backend services and APIs to manage sessions, devices, robots, datasets, permissions, and workflows.
- Data shipping and reliability engineering: ensure robust upload flows, buffering, retries, offline handling, data integrity checks, and efficient bandwidth usage.
- Cloud architecture & implementation: storage, computing, networking, IAM, CI/CD, deployment strategies, cost awareness, and scaling patterns.
- Integrate third-party software (partner SDKs, device tooling, identity providers, storage/analytics tools, data labeling tools, etc.) and manage vendor/partner interfaces from a technical standpoint.
- Set up monitoring, logging, tracing, and metrics across services and clients; define SLIs/SLOs, dashboards, and alerting.
- Ensure security and compliance best practices: authentication/authorization, secure data transport, secrets management, auditability, least-privilege access.
- Drive architecture and technical standards: define system boundaries, interfaces, and long-term maintainability.
- Mentor and guide junior developers through design reviews, pair programming, code reviews, and best practices.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years professional software development experience (or equivalent track record) with clear ownership of complex systems.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, setting architecture direction, and guiding junior engineers.
- Backend experience with one or more mainstream stacks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go) and building REST and/or gRPC APIs.
- Solid knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), data modeling, migrations, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including:
- storage (object storage), compute (containers/VMs), networking, IAM/security
- containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Jenkins), infrastructure automation
- Setting up metrics, logging, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/EFK, Datadog) and defining actionable alerts.
Beneficial Skills
- Experience in robotics-adjacent systems, telemetry, sensor data, or edge-to-cloud pipelines.
- Familiarity with real-time communication (WebSockets/WebRTC) for operator UIs or device streaming.
- Experience with time-series data and data lake patterns (e.g., Parquet, partitioning, lifecycle policies).
- Exposure to MLOps/data tooling (dataset versioning, labeling workflows, lineage, metadata stores).
- Knowledge of security/compliance expectations for sensitive data (encryption at rest/in transit, audit logs, data retention policies).
- Prior work with multi-tenant platforms, role-based access control, and complex permissions models.
- Experience creating internal developer platforms (templates, shared libraries, golden paths).
Your Profile
- Proven experience delivering production-grade full stack systems with modern web frontends, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and building reliable pipelines (network interruptions, retries, idempotency, backpressure, integrity, latency).
- Ability to work agile and pragmatically in a fast-paced environment with changing partners and priorities, without sacrificing stability and engineering quality.
- Excellent communication skills: able to align stakeholders, clarify requirements, and document architecture and tradeoffs.
