Job Description:

Job Description:

We are opening an opportunity for a Business Analyst to support the development, deployment, and adoption of a new cross-departmental Value Stream Mapping tool currently under construction. Working closely with the Tool Business Owner and other stakeholders, this role requires strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of Airbus internal processes, and the ability to translate complex business operations into clear technical requirements.

A key mission of this role will be bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the development team. The Business Analyst will ensure that the tool accurately reflects operational realities and delivers measurable value by detailing specifications, validating deliverables, and driving user enablement.

Main Responsibilities

1. Business Analysis & Needs Structuring

  • Business Analysis: Ability to analyze business logic, derive KPIs, and generate reports to ensure the tool captures and measures the right operational data and flow metrics.

  • Develop a comprehensive view of current process challenges, lead times, and expected outcomes across departments.

  • Collect, challenge, and consolidate business needs, translating them into detailed, structured requirements and user stories for the development team by working closely with Business Owner and Product Owner.

2. Project Planning & Roadmap Support

  • Project planning: Help prepare project strategy and roadmap and keep the stakeholders aligned with the overall vision (Concept of Operations).

  • Convert VSM requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications.

  • Assist the Business Owner in prioritizing the backlog based on business impact, waste reduction, and technical feasibility.

3. Lean Engineering & Development Coordination

  • Lean Fundamentals & VSM Logic: Apply core fundamentals of Value Stream Mapping and lean engineering concepts to ensure the tool's architecture and logic accurately map process flows, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate closely with the development team to clarify requirements, answer day-to-day functional questions, and ensure correct implementation of lean logic.

  • Validation: Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and functional validation to ensure the tool's features meet the business objectives, operate reliably, and align with operational excellence standards.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Facilitate workshops, alignment sessions, and requirement reviews to capture accurate end-to-end Value Stream Mapping processes.

  • Ensure new needs are assessed against existing capabilities and the overarching tool strategy.

5. Documentation & User Enablement

  • Documentation & Training: Prepare end-user handbooks and conduct awareness and training sessions focused on both the tool's features and the underlying VSM methodologies.

  • Support user onboarding, collect post-deployment feedback, and monitor adoption metrics.

  • Document business rules, operational workflows, and data models to serve as long-term references.

6. Systems, Architecture & Tools Knowledge

  • Airbus Toolset & Database Knowledge: Utilize a basic understanding of the CoreAll schema, data tables, and authoring tools. Possess enough SQL knowledge to query databases, and assist in the creation or specification of CoreAll/Skywise sensors/dashboards.

  • Development Knowledge (not mandatory): While coding is not required, possess the ability to read and conceptually understand MongoDB document structures and Node.js/Express backend logic. Basic familiarity with modern web application stacks (e.g., MERN) is preferred to effectively translate bugs to developers.

  • Architecture Knowledge (not mandatory): Ability to read, interpret, and navigate technical documentation and structural diagrams, including PlantUML, Mermaid, Archi, and Enterprise Architect (EA) models.

Profile & Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex processes, analyze value streams, and identify measurable KPIs.

  • Solid grasp of Lean Engineering concepts and basic principles of Value Stream Mapping (VSM).

  • Experience in business analysis, requirements engineering, or agile project delivery.

  • Excellent communication skills, highly comfortable bridging business process improvement needs with technical delivery.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.

Why Apply?

  • Opportunity to play a critical, hands-on role in shaping a strategic internal tool from concept to deployment.

  • Deep dive into cross-functional processes with high visibility across various departments.

  • Ideal role for someone who enjoys structuring data, applying lean methodologies, and ensuring high-quality software delivery in complex environments.
