Job Description:
This position is part of our Safety Business Unit, which aims to enable safer, greener and more inclusive industries and transportation systems.
Task description
Performing static calculations and lifecycle analysis for metallic components using analytical methods and FE analysis in aeronautical environment
Evaluating quality reports and construction deviations to ensure structural integrity
Providing evidence of repairs and changes in the production process.
Answering customer questions and investigating occurrences or incidents from operations
Interfacing with international project teams and adjacent technical departments.
Preparation of documentation and presentation of work results to internal and external stakeholders
Required qualifications
The job requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of aeronautical engineering or mechanical engineering or comparable courses of study and related subject-specific additional qualifications or completed vocational training with a corresponding particularly extensive subject-specific additional qualification. The total required knowledge and experience may have been acquired in other ways
Skills and competences
Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
Initial experience as a stress engineer within the aviation industry
Extensive proficiency in structural mechanics, specifically regarding STRENGTH and STIFFNESS of metallic structures
Deep knowledge in standard analytical methods (e.g., HSB, Bruhn, ESDU, Roark & Young)
Expert use of FE tools (Hypermesh, Optistruct, NASTRAN, ABAQUS)
Proven experience with structural and lifetime analysis of complex components
Very good written and spoken German and English skills
Willingness for (occasional) business trips at home and abroad (in each JR as the last point in this section)
Location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we support Airbus Helicopters in developing helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.
