Job Description:
Job Summary: The Senior Technical Project Manager (STPM) leads complex robotics, automation, and advanced aerospace tooling programs from concept through deployment. This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, program execution, and customer delivery, ensuring successful integration of high‑value capital equipment, including robotics, precision tooling, motion systems, and automated assembly technologies, into aircraft production environments.
The STPM owns scope, schedule, cost, risk, and technical integration, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams while serving as the primary interface to Airbus internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customer production sites.

Salary range: $160,000-$188,000 based on candidate profile
Your challenges:
Primary Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Execution
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of robotics and automated tooling programs from requirements definition through CISS, CIPS, and production deployment.
- Build and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), resource plans, and program budgets.
- Drive cross‑functional execution across mechanical design, controls, software, systems, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- Facilitate structured engineering milestones including PDR, CDR, FDR risk reviews, and readiness gates.
- Ensure compliance with Airbus quality, safety, documentation, and configuration management standards.
Technical Integration
- Translate customer and production requirements into clear, actionable technical scopes.
- Coordinate system architecture decisions across robotics, motion control, vision, tooling, and factory integration.
- Track technical risks, mitigation strategies, and validation plans.
- Partner with systems engineering and controls/software leads to manage interface definitions and performance validation.
- Support V&V planning including simulation, offline programming, CISS, CIPS, and production ramp‑up.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Serve as the primary program interface to Airbus internal customers, external partners, and suppliers.
- Lead program reviews, status reporting, and executive‑level updates.
- Manage scope changes, contract deliverables, and commercial impacts in coordination with program leadership.
- Support onsite installation, commissioning, and production readiness activities.
Financial & Operational Management
- Track program financials including budget, earned value, and forecast accuracy.
- Manage procurement, supplier deliverables, and long‑lead items aligned to schedule.
- Drive issue resolution across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- Implement continuous improvement across program execution, documentation, and lessons learned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution, tooling performance, and delivery processes.
- Support proposal development, cost estimation, and technical scoping for new programs.
Your boarding pass:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, or related field (MS preferred).
Experience:
- 10+ years managing complex technical programs in robotics, automation, aerospace tooling, or capital equipment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering integrated hardware/software systems into production environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial robotics, controls systems, and automated manufacturing.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or CATIA for design review and technical discussions.
- Experience with program management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.).
- Familiarity with configuration control, change management, and structured engineering review processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across engineering, operations, and executive leadership.
Preferred
- Experience with aerospace OEM production systems and requirements.
- Background in robotic drilling, fastening, inspection, or assembly automation.
- PMP certification or equivalent program management training.
- Experience with international programs and supplier coordination.
- Familiarity with industrial automation safety standards (ISO, ANSI/RIA, CE).
- Prior experience with aerospace automation integrators.
Travel Required:
- 30% Domestic and International
