Your tasks
- Represent ALDI Nord in Brussels in close cooperation with the Director Public Affairs
- Lead political communication on European and German policy developments in the areas of: Environment (PPWR incl. delegated acts), Supply chain (CSRD, CSDDD, EUDR), Labour & Social Affairs, Non-food policy and Economic policy
- Develop strategic concepts and policy approaches
- Monitor, analyse and assess information from industry associations as well as political and societal developments relevant to the retail sector
- Prepare internal position papers, strategy documents, statements, presentations, briefings and background materials
- Provide information and strategic advice to internal departments
- Prepare, coordinate and participate in internal meetings, association committee meetings, stakeholder dialogues and external events
- Build and maintain a strong network of internal and external stakeholders
Your profile
- University degree in political science, social sciences, environmental studies, communications or a comparable field
- Minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience in a political environment (EU or German institutions, political parties, companies, associations, consultancies)
- Proven experience in engaging with political stakeholders and understanding political processes
- Strong knowledge of legislative procedures at EU and German federal level
- Ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics; ideally experience with environmental (PPWR) and/or supply chain topics (CSRD, CSDDD, EUDR)
- Strong networking skills and the ability to build sustainable relationships
- Structured, analytical, independent and results‑oriented working style
- Willingness to travel to Essen, Berlin and, where relevant, to parliamentary constituencies
- Strong diplomatic skills and excellent communication abilities
- Fluent German and excellent command of English
