Our Opportunity:

As a Data Analyst, your main responsibility will be to analyze and interpret data related to insurance policies, claims, risk assessment and self-service. You will work closely with the Data Engineering and Architecture team as well as all departments (Sales, Technical, Claims, Finance etc.) in the company to gather requirements and produce relevant data analysis, reports and models to support decision-making processes and create new data products.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Data collection and processing: Collecting and organizing data from various sources such as insurance databases, reports, online traffic data and external sources. This may involve using SQL queries, Excel spreadsheets, VBA or specialized software, like Jupyter Notebook and Anaconda.
  • Data analysis: Analysing data using statistical techniques and tools to identify patterns, trends, and correlations. This may include building and maintaining predictive models to assess risk, estimate claims frequency and severity, and evaluate policyholder behaviour.
  • Reporting and visualization: Creating clear and concise reports, charts, and visualizations to present data analysis findings to stakeholders within the company and outside (intermediaries). This may involve using tools such as Power BI or MicroStrategy.
  • Quality assurance: Conducting data quality checks and ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout the analysis process.
  • Data Governance: Assisting in establishing and maintaining Data Governance practices within the organization, including data quality management, data privacy compliance, and data security protocols.

Capabilities and Qualifications:

Technical Skills

  • Graduating students or fresh graduates (less than 2 years of work experience) with a university degree in a relevant field such as mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or data science.
  • Prior internship experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of Data visualization tools such Power BI MicroStrategy
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as VBA, Python, or R
  • Understanding of Data Governance and Data Management principles and best practices.

General Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate findings and insights.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • An understanding of insurance concepts and principles is a plus.
