MS Power Platform has been utilised within Allianz Global Investors for over 3 years with some great successes under its belt. For 2 years we have utilised a ‘run and change’ operating model with an outsourced delivery partner. The Digital Product Owner (Power Platform) is responsible to develop and optimise the use of MS Power Platform within Allianz GI to meet our business needs. They will act as a bridge between the technical and business side of projected or implemented solutions, including driving quality and continuous improvement of said solutions.

The individual must interface with a broad variety of stakeholders, from customers through to auditors and senior management. They must be able to describe and defend architectural decisions and implementations to audiences of varying technical background.

This role will be based in London and Frankfurt.

What you will do

• Vision: Represents the Platform and the users of the Platform, communicating vision both internally and to users, collaborating with other Technology Architects to develop end-to-end solutions and promotion of the Platform within the organisation. Introduce and roll out a citizen development framework ensuring compliance to IT policies
• Scope: Sets prioritisation within the team of the overall backlog, coordination with SDM/Architect at delivery partner. Working hand-in-hand with the Agile team at the delivery partner to supervise and manage the product backlog
• Facilitate: Attends daily standups to provide guidance/clarification/steering. Provides authoritative knowledge on the Platform to ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reusability and reliability upon deployment. Act as the interface between Power Platform team and our IT stakeholders
• Improve: Promote continuous improvement of the Platform and operating model to support, promote standardised and repeatable solutions/processes, own and maintain the overall health of the platform, searching for improvement in configuration to allow the usage to evolve in a scalable manner
• Protect: Act as a shield for the delivery team from users/stakeholders to protect from business influences that could impact the scope of delivery. Act as an advocate for the business protecting their requirements throughout the delivery
• Govern: Play an active role in the oversight of our delivery partner, including attending Operations Boards, monitoring of performance and KPIs and escalating with Service Owner

What you bring

Communication and Collaboration

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively interact with application teams as well as customers, in order to understand requirements and communicate issues and progress
• Ability to explain complex concepts in a straightforward/simple way suitable for different stakeholders
• Experience working with or in different cultures

Technical skills

• Basic database development knowledge with at least one database platform (e.g., Dataverse, MS Access, SQL, etc.)
• Experience of use of JIRA and/or Azure DevOps
• Basic knowledge of at least one programming, functional, and/or query language (e.g., Power FX, PQFL, SQL, DAX, VBA, etc.) in a professional or academic environment
• Working knowledge of 2 or more of the following Power Platform technologies: Power Apps (Canvas & Model Driven), Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, Dataverse
• High-level understanding of wider Microsoft Cloud and Business Application ecosystem to be able to consult with internal customers on feasibility of new use cases e.g. AI Builder, Copilot, RPA etc.
• Commitment to acquire Power Platform Fundamentals Microsoft Certification within 90 days of hiring
• Ongoing commitment to learning the latest innovations; both via formal training and self-guided research
• An eye for clean, easy-to-use, UI/UX implementations
• Familiarity with generating documentation of solutions, processes, and checklists
