This is a newly established role with a primary focus on developing and implementing product strategies. You will oversee the entire product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with governance and achieving portfolio performance goals.

About the role

• Developing and implementing Product Strategy, incorporating insights from market, competitors, and customer research, and aligning with the Distribution Strategy and the Customer Value Proposition.
• Developing and implementing the underwriting framework.
• Monitoring and providing analysis and reports on variation from product plans and the underwriting framework, ensuring underperforming segments are reported and that appropriate actions to resolve/remediate are implemented.
• Developing and implementing product governance and risk frameworks, including the completion of regular product reviews, submission to Product Council, and regular reporting of product risk metrics. Providing oversight of the end-to-end product lifecycle.
• Liaising with the pricing team to determine pricing strategies and revising and ensuring the adequacy of pricing and supporting implementation of rating tool changes.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline supported by relevant insurance industry qualifications.
• Significant product management, product development, technical analysis and/or underwriting experience
• Significant experience in the development, and ongoing management of products which are both innovative and sophisticated.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of governance requirements and frameworks as well as portfolio sensitive legislation or regulations.
• Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities to facilitate the evaluation of complex and detailed data in the development and management of a range of insurance products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
