In the role of Quality Assurance Expert, you will serve as owner of full quality assurance related to partner projects, system changes, marketing offers, and business rules. Additionally, role is responsible for building continuous regression test strategy and execution on partner sites. Responsible for creating an end-to-end test plan and test cases; executing the plan, cases and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met, and that the solution works as expected. The solution should be tested in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with other legacy- and / or external systems and functionality.
This position follows a Hybrid schedule with two in-office days per week at our Cambridge, Ontario location.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Proactively leads and identifies QA opportunities and helps resolve new business challenges.
- Develop and drive a high-level QA strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to executing that strategy.
- Lead efforts to develop, document, and implement applicable QA processes and procedures to provide more effective quality methods within the group in support of providing quality products.
- Be highly committed to create automation for regression and feature testing and maintaining frequency of automation capabilities.
- Ability to leverage multiple testing tools and capabilities and proactively recommend testing applications.
- Create, implement, maintain, and develop documentation to support all quality assurance efforts.
- Develop quality test plans and test cases, and lead in setting and maintaining the standards for Quality Assurance test documentation.
- Collaborate with team to improve overall quality by emphasizing defect prevention.
- Maintain a high degree of error free programs, procedures, systems, and documentation on all releases.
- Anticipate potential problems by creating exhaustive test scenarios that ensure comprehensive testing.
- Document all testing results in conjunction with test plans.
- Identify and analyze defects/test results and remain engaged with appropriate resources throughout the chain of events leading to resolution.
- Identify areas for test improvement through analysis, experience, and use of metrics.
- Communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner.
- Perform SOAP and REST APIs testing using XML and JSON. Create UAT documents for testing of client and product launches, system, and fulfilment changes.
- Perform UAT and PPV (Postproduction Validation) testing. Facilitate and utilize best practices for user acceptance testing including creation, socialization, and execution of UAT/PPV plans to verify all configurations, changes render visually successful on partner test sites and live sites.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of education, training, and relevant work experience
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience building test plans and overseeing testing strategies
- Experience creating and executing end-to-end test plans and test cases.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Experience with SoapUI or Postman
- Skilled in XML, APIs, UAT and PPV (Postproduction Validation) testing
- HTML/CSS, SQL, FileMaker Pro knowledge preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across various internal and external partners.
- Fluent in English
