About the Job

As a Backend Developer, you will design, develop, and test programs for Oracle DW/BI and cloud applications, collaborating with business analysts to ensure project deliverables meet business requirements.

Leveraging your expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Azure services, and Python programming, you will optimize software development processes and drive standardization, while applying agile methodologies and best practices for data integration and migration.

What you do

• Develop and test programs using SQL, PL/SQL for Oracle DW/BI applications
• Develop and test programs using Azure Synapse, PySpark for cloud application
• Work with the business analysts to fully understand the business requirements and assure that the project deliverables are fulfilling these
• Develop technical specifications for projects and design data processing pipelines
• Perform code reviews to identify basic technical and logical errors
• Actively drive standardization and optimization of software development
• Develop best practices to improve productivity and utilize programming principles, tools, and techniques to write solution codes

What you bring

• Extensive experience in ETL/ELT, data integration, and migration using various technologies including REST, OData, batch, Kafka events, and Azure cloud solutions.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL, with over 5 years of experience, particularly with Oracle 11g or newer versions.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure services such as Synapse, Data Lake Gen 2, API Azure, Azure Functions, and lakehouse concepts like DeltaLake.
• Proficient in Python programming, including core Python and PySpark, with strong understanding of DWH concepts, architecture, and data modeling techniques.
• Experience collaborating with Business Analysts and Customers for requirements definition and transforming these into technical designs using agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with version control tools like Git/SVN, devops tools like Jenkins and Nexus, and agile project management tools like Confluence and Jira.
• Self-driven with a strong aptitude for learning new technologies and tools, and knowledge of the Insurance business domain
• Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
