Description:

The role is responsible for enabling the sales development & prudent underwriting for Marine Cargo lines of business in Broker, the GI agent and IFA channels, including the implementation and execution of the underwriting strategy in Singapore, driving sustainable growth and profitability for the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for underwriting new and existing Marine cargo and Freight Forwarders/Bailees Liability to achieve profitability
• Originate Marine Cargo lines revenues from Brokers, GI agents, IFA & Banca channels
• Renew and develop multinational programs
• Adhere to Group and local underwriting guidelines, compliance and risk management
• Accountable for the top and bottom line of all Distribution channels Marine Cargo lines segment, analyzing product portfolio for opportunities and provide recommendations by product and channel
• Responsible for managing relationship with intermediaries/partners to achieve the company goals
• Provide training to clients/intermediaries as marine expert
• Provide insights on local market trends and developments
• Support on underwriting file review and annual underwriting guideline review
• Any other duties as allocated by Line Manager

Qualifications and skills

• At least 5 years of experience in the P&C industry with focus on Marine Cargo lines of business
• Local technical underwriting knowledge on Marine Cargo insurance market in Singapore required
• Strong business development capabilities
• Established clients/broker relationships
• Self-motivated, able to work independently
