Job Purpose/Role

The Capital Management team at Allianz Commercial is responsible for managing the capital, dividends, and ratings. The position holder will be located in our Munich office, collaborate with colleagues primarily from Accounting, Treasury & Tax, Actuarial, Global Performance Steering, and Risk Management in Munich and Chicago, and report to the Head of Global Capital Management.

Key responsibilities

  • Further strengthen the link between corporate performance metrics, such as RoE, and business steering relevant performance metrics in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders and operate the related processes

  • Contribute to projects and initiatives with focus on improving Allianz Commercial’s capital efficiency

  • Cover capital management topics for Allianz Commercial, i.e. for commercial business operated by Allianz Commercial and sister entities writing commercial business within Allianz Group

  • Project and plan capital positions and dividends, targeting efficient capitalization while complying with Allianz Commercial’s capital adequacy risk appetite, advise on steering options and drive their implementation

  • Manage capital adequacy and efficiency, comprising the assessment of the prospective capital needs for selected entities under management of Allianz Commercial in close collaboration with the local CFOs, Risk Management, and other teams, providing advice and drive informed decision-making on, and implementation of capital and dividend steering actions

  • Continuously improve globally consistent, value-generating processes and procedures, with solid governance frameworks for own area of responsibility, considering market developments, regulations and other stakeholder requirements affecting own area of responsibility

Must-Have-Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • University degree in some quantitative science, preferably Mathematics or Actuarial Sciences

  • More than 5 years’ professional experience in Corporate Finance or in Actuarial, preferably in (re-)insurance

  • Risk modelling experience, ideally with focus on underwriting risks, and a solid understanding of the link between corporate performance metrics and business steering relevant performance metrics

  • Proven ability to drive change while working under time pressure and flexibility in task management in order to adapt to changing priorities

  • Engaged and independent working; business-minded, pragmatic and result-orientated can-do attitude; excellent analytical skills; assertive yet co-operative team player

  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience in communication to top management

  • Business fluent language skills in English

  • Recognized professional qualification related to the job (e.g. Actuary)

  • Fluent language skills in German
