Role Purpose
The Employee Relations Specialist/Senior Specialist is responsible for managing complex employee relations matters and ensuring full compliance with Mauritian labor laws and Allianz Group policies. The role acts as a trusted advisor to managers and HR stakeholders, balancing business needs with risk management, governance, and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities – Employee Relations
- Manage end-to-end employee relations cases including grievances, disciplinary actions, misconduct investigations, performance-related issues, and workplace conflicts.
- Lead and independently handle complex and sensitive ER cases, ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal compliance.
- Conduct investigations, disciplinary hearings, and grievance meetings; prepare detailed case documentation and recommendations.
- Advise managers and HR Business Partners on ER risks, corrective actions, and best practices.
- Support organizational change initiatives (restructuring, policy changes, workforce transitions) from an ER and risk perspective.
Key Responsibilities – HR Compliance & Governance
- Establish clear governance framework on handling employee grievances and disciplinary issues
- Ensure compliance with Mauritian labor legislation, employment regulations, and Allianz internal policies.
- Monitor changes in labor laws and assess impact; provide guidance and implementation support.
- Review, draft, and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks and any other related employee documents .
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams during internal and external audits, inspections, or disputes.
- Maintain accurate ER records, compliance documentation, and reporting dashboards.
- Track and document all employment litigation matters and update the relevant stakeholders as and when required
- Liaise and coordinate with external legal counsel on employment law matters as and when required
Advisory, Training & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees, people managers, and HR teams on employee relations and compliance matters.
- Deliver training and awareness sessions on ER processes, disciplinary frameworks, grievance handling, and code of conduct.
- Promote a culture of respect, ethical behavior, and compliance aligned with Allianz values.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze ER trends, root causes, and risk indicators to recommend preventive and corrective actions.
- Contribute to HR transformation initiatives, process standardization, and ER automation.
- Support the continuous improvement of ER frameworks and governance models within a shared-services environment.

- Experience in a multinational or shared-services environment preferred
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Law, Industrial Relations, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in Employee Relations, HR Compliance and Labor Relations
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated industries is an advantage
- Exposure to global HR policies and matrix organizations preferred
