As Senior Strategic Buyer – Local Coordinator, you will lead sourcing activities, manage supplier relationships, and act as the primary link between local teams and global procurement functions. You will identify opportunities, negotiate value‑driven agreements, and ensure that procurement processes operate efficiently and in line with company standards. Your work will directly support business continuity, cost optimization, and long‑term supplier performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for the Greek market, ensuring alignment with global procurement strategies and compliance with internal policies.

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and performance monitoring.

  • Serve as the local coordinator for procurement activities, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with international teams.

  • Analyze data and market insights to identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvement, and supplier innovation.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring service quality, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.

  • Support and coordinate procurement‑related projects, ensuring timely delivery and measurable outcomes.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to local team members or cross‑functional project groups.

  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and effective use of procurement tools such as Ariba.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement policies, standards, and best practices across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Supply Chain, or a related field; a Master’s degree is considered an advantage.

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, ideally within a large international or multicountry environment.

  • Proven experience in project management with full delivery responsibility.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, either through direct team management or leading cross‑functional initiatives.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies.

  • Hands‑on experience with Ariba or similar procurement platforms.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build strong working relationships.

  • Fluency in English and Greek is required.
