The Head of Operations determines the long-term strategic goals of Nextcare Operations. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure operational excellence through strategizing, monitoring, and planning the functioning of all divisions within Operations in the Gulf Region (UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar). This will be done through proactive initiatives to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
This role has an overall responsibility to plan, direct, and manage the operations in the following departments: Pre-Certification (Out Patient), Medical Claims (In Patient), Claims Management, After Sales Support, and Care Centre.
What you will do
Strategy formulation and implementation
- Contribute to the development and refinement of Nextcare vision and strategy
- Support the overall process of management and corporate decision-making to ensure the organization maximizes its short, medium and long-term profitability and returns to its shareholders
- Liaise with other executive heads on the implementation of the company’s strategic and operational plans
- Develop, review, and report on the operations division’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the heads of department
- Project Management – plan, organize, and manage resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.
- Deliver all aspects of Departmental Management including: Quality Hires and Training needs / Personal Development / Performance Monitoring / Team Building.
Management of the overall Operations function
- Provide strategic leadership to build Operations , develop Standard Operating Procedures , and ensure ongoing process improvements.
- Ensure that the operations functions of the company are run effectively and efficiently so that each operational division performs in terms with their strategic plan, developmental plan and operational plan objectives
- Develop, iterate, document, and execute strategies taking into account uncertainties, key decisions, potential outcomes, and estimated associated costs.
- Identify issues and trends advice corrective action with regards to Operations process; provides guidance and sets policies for all functions within Operations.
- Maintain the administration, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, communication and liaison on all company affairs at a level acceptable to the management
- Implement, maintain and manage an effective system of controls throughout the company, covering non-financial as well as financial controls
- Ensure that operating objectives and standards of performance are well defined and implemented across the function.
- Ensure that appropriate standards of conduct are established and complied with.
- Present a yearly budget for COO approval and prudently manage resources within those budget guidelines according to company policy and within ethical corporate governance guidelines
- Management, monitoring, reporting and communication in regard to financial and physical resources, administration and budgeting of operations
- Maintain and develop organizational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, partners and official bodies.
People Management
- Build and lead an effective and cohesive management team
- In consultation with HR implement effective succession planning, people
- Management, development, recruitment, and retention strategies for the division
- Manage the performance of all heads of department within the division
- Ensure proper execution of performance management system
- Promotion of employment equity and transformation
What you will bring
- Bachelors in a relevant discipline; Medical qualification is an advantage
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience in a senior role in the TPA/Assistance Operations
- Strong business and operational acumen
- Excellent communication skills , both written and verbal
- Fluency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general internet navigation and research skills
- Legally permitted to work in the country of operations.
