The primary purpose of this role is to lead and deploy injury management practices and programs, to support the Insurance for New South Wales and Nominal Insurer teams in consistently achieving Return to Work, Customer Satisfaction and Medical Expense Control business targets, and to provide injury management support and advice to Claims Operation.
About the role
- Provide leadership to the Return to Work (RTW) Specialist team
- Implement strategies and programs that contribute to meeting or exceeding annual Return to Work (RTW), Customer Satisfaction and Medical Expense Control business targets for the Nominal Insurer and NSW teams.
- Identify opportunities to achieve expected Medical spend targets and work with Claims Service Managers to implement recommended strategies.
- Identify public/private sector employer practices that are negatively impacting RTW and collaborate with RTW Manager to develop strategies that will reduce claim durations.
- Implement claims management strategies that assists workers in achieving improved RTW durations for primary and secondary psychological injuries.
- Work collaboratively with claims teams to build business awareness of injury management processes and contractual requirements to drive performance improvement.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/ or industry accreditations.
- Experience in injury management relating to occupational rehabilitation, claims management and/or return to work.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to deliver engaging and impactful presentations.
- Ability to recognise, avert, manage and escalate conflicts to effective and timely resolution.
- Proven ability to articulate a customer centric culture and exemplify behaviours at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
- Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, reporting and communication tools.
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
