Job Scope

To support the profitable and sustainable growth of the Specialty Credit business across APAC by originating, structuring, and underwriting high-quality transactions. The role combines commercial origination, client relationship management, and technical underwriting expertise to deliver sound risk decisions aligned with Allianz Trade’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Origination & Business Development

  • Identify, originate, and develop new business opportunities with brokers, banks, and corporate clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including clients, intermediaries, and partners
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Specialty Credit growth strategies in APAC, supporting regional commercial objectives
  • Actively manage pipeline and conversion of opportunities within the defined risk appetite (“strike zone”)

Underwriting & Transaction Execution

  • Lead the commercial underwriting process in coordination with risk underwriting teams
  • Independently analyse and structure transactions, including preparation of credit papers and internal deal presentations
  • Assess financial and technical risks, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and portfolio quality standards
  • Review, negotiate, and finalize transaction documentation, including policy wordings and legal agreements
  • Support the structuring of complex or cross-border deals, including collaboration on syndicated or multi-party transactions where relevant

Portfolio Management

  • Monitor and manage assigned portfolio to ensure risk quality, profitability, and compliance with internal standards
  • Support policy administration, renewals, endorsements, and client enquiries
  • Balance commercial growth with disciplined risk management and portfolio oversight
  • Take ownership of ad hoc projects, initiatives, and process improvements
  • Contribute to product development, operational enhancements, and digital initiatives where applicable

Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across underwriting, distribution, legal, and risk functions
  • Contribute to enhancing market presence and positioning of the Specialty Credit offering in APAC including representing Allianz Trade in meetings, industry events, and client engagements

Key Skills, Competencies & Personal Attributes

  • Strong analytical and financial assessment capabilities, with the ability to evaluate complex credit risks and structure appropriate solutions
  • Collaborative team player with high level of autonomy, organization, and attention to detail, with strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Good time management with ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong sense of urgency
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to business development and problem-solving
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external parties

Key Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in credit insurance, structured trade credit, banking, or related industry
  • Strong competency in policy wording, credit analysis, and transaction structuring
  • Track record in originating and executing deals with brokers, corporates, and financial institutions
  • Experience in APAC markets and cross-border transactions is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline
