About the Job

The Head of Financial Closing & Reporting is responsible for leading the global Allianz Technology segment's financial closing processes ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role requires sound understanding of a Technology company financials and involves overseeing the preparation of financial statements, managing the segment's compliance with accounting standards and providing strategic insights to support steering and business decision-making.

The position is also functionally responsible for the horizontal oversight of accounting activities in the various branches and legal entities of AZ Technology across the globe which requires strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and excellent communication skills.

What you do

  • Lead the segment's monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports, providing insights and analysis to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, German GAAP, MVBS) and internal policies (including interface with Allianz Group Accounting and Reporting)
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the closing and reporting processes.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process for the global segment. Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making and drive performance.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and assess their impact on the segment's financial reporting and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

What you bring

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial closing and reporting with proven leadership experience and the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, HGB, MVBS) and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Leadership and Team Management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and GenAI platforms is a strong advantage.
