Job Purpose

As Regional Technology, AI & Resilience Risk Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening Allianz Asia Pacific's Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) framework across the region. You will provide independent risk oversight, challenge and guidance on technology, cyber, AI, operational resilience, execution and transformation risks and broader operational risk topics while supporting Allianz's digital transformation agenda.
The role provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, data, AI, cyber security, operational resilience and risk governance, collaborating with senior stakeholders across local entities, the regional hub and Allianz Group.
You will contribute to the continued enhancement of Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) framework and regional system of governance, oversee technology and operational risk assessments, support regional and Group initiatives and projects, and help ensure that emerging risks associated with AI, digitalisation, outsourcing and operational resilience are identified and managed effectively.
The successful candidate will gain extensive exposure to a diverse range of business functions, countries and strategic initiatives across Asia Pacific while working closely with Allianz Group experts and regional leadership.
The position reports to the Regional CRO.

What you do

  • Coordinate regional oversight of technology, cyber, AI, digital transformation and operational risks across Allianz Asia Pacific.
  • Coordinate OEs' digital risk management activities throughout the annual NFRM cycle with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment across OE, regional and Group requirements.
  • Review and challenge OE risk assessments, control effectiveness reviews, mitigation plans and remedial actions, ensuring appropriate follow-up and escalation where necessary.
  • Support the development and implementation of risk governance frameworks, risk appetite, policies and standards relating to technology, cyber, AI and operational risks.
  • Provide independent risk oversight and challenge on material technology, cyber, AI and transformation initiatives, including Project Risk Assessments (PRAs), and support the continued enhancement of PRA methodologies and governance.
  • Monitor emerging risks, regulatory developments, incidents, control weaknesses and thematic trends, assessing implications and supporting appropriate remediation.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of Allianz's Responsible AI framework and AI governance practices from a risk oversight perspective.
  • Promote consistency, transparency and best-practice sharing across OEs while maintaining a holistic regional view of risk exposures.
  • Contribute to strengthening operational & digital resilience capabilities and risk culture across the region.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Risk Management, Information Security, Protection & Resilience, Internal Audit, Compliance, Data Governance and Technology teams.
  • Lead regional communities of practice and support governance forums through insightful analysis, reporting and presentations.
  • Contribute to Allianz Group-driven governance, transformation and strategic initiatives related to AI governance, cyber resilience, operational resilience, digitalisation and risk management enhancement.


What you bring

  • Appropriate University and above degree in IT, business administration, data science or relevant field
  • 5-7 years of experience in technology risk, IT audit, cyber security, AI & data governance, operational risk, internal audit, risk consulting, or related disciplines, preferably within insurance, financial services, consulting, or other regulated industries.
  • Excellent English verbally and in writing; knowledge of regional language(s) an asset
  • Experience performing risk assessments, control reviews, audits or governance activities
  • Exposure to an international working environment
  • Holder of a relevant professional qualification (risk and/or IT) is of advantage
  • Solid understanding of IT regulation and requirements and global IT risk management frameworks is of advantage
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to challenge constructively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technology and risk topics into clear business insights.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented and capable of working independently in a dynamic international environment.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills across diverse teams and seniority levels.
  • Curiosity and interest in emerging technologies, AI and digital transformation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Good understanding of technology, cyber security, AI and operational risk management concepts.
  • Familiarity with governance and control frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, ISO27001, operational resilience frameworks, or comparable standards.
  • Understanding of AI governance principles, data governance and emerging technology risks is highly desirable.
  • Awareness of regulatory expectations related to technology risk, cyber security, outsourcing and operational resilience.
  • Strong AI skills, e.g. ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot an advantage.
