Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled data engineer to join Infrastructure and Cloud Platforms team. The data engineer will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouse architectures that support data-driven decision making across the company. The ideal candidate will have experience in Python, SQL, big data frameworks, orchestration tools, big data technical stack, data engineering concepts, and Snowflake.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain data pipelines that transform raw data into usable formats for analysis
Design and maintain data warehouse architectures that meet the needs of the organization
Collaborate data scientists and analysts to understand their requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data engineering solutions.
Develop and maintain ETL (extract, transform, load) processes that integrate data from multiple sources
Create and maintain documentation for data pipelines and data warehouse architectures
Monitor and optimize data pipelines and data warehouse architectures for performance and scalability
Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure smooth integration of data engineering solutions with other systems
Stay up-to-date with new developments in data engineering and data science, and share knowledge with the team
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
5+ years of experience in data engineering
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and ETL processes
Familiarity with data integration techniques and tools for handling structured and unstructured data
Proficiency in database systems like SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and experience with SQL optimization
Experience with big data frameworks (such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka) and orchestration tools (such as Airflow or DBT)
Knowledge of big data technical stack (such as HDFS, Hive, or Impala)
Familiarity with Snowflake cloud data platform
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and best practices
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
