Autodesk Research seeks an experienced, quick-learning individual to handle DevOps tasks in support of multiple strategic research projects. The successful candidate will work as part of the Research Engineering team, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and domain experts in manufacturing, robotics, architecture, computer vision, machine learning, and generative design. Work would involve requirements gathering, design and implementation of new systems, maintenance and enhancement of existing systems, and advising others on decisions related to technologies you are familiar with.
As a member of Research Engineering, you would play an important role shepherding "what-if" ideas into tangible proof of concept demonstrations and prototypes. You would also identify common technology needs within Autodesk Research and plan solutions to meet them. Autodesk Research is a hotbed of rapidly evolving projects, experimenting with cutting edge technologies, and delivers solutions with real-world benefits for our customers and society. Research Engineering is a supportive, international team of experienced developers, UX designers and QA specialists.
This position is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Design, develop and support build engineering solutions for various projects in various languages
Design, develop and support cloud engineering projects in an AWS environment
Advise others on their efforts related to build engineering and cloud engineering
Learn new technologies, and apply your newfound knowledge to create reliable tools and systems for other developers and scientists
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or comparable discipline
5+ years experience doing DevOps. Ability to rapidly assess and learn new technologies
CMake for C++ projects
Docker, Docker repositories
Python packaging and PyPl
Node.js packaging and npm repositories
macOS, Linux and Windows environments
Sysadmin experience on Linux in particular. Familiarity with the range of AWS services and experience with some (esp. Lambda, EC2, ECS). Experience working securely in an AWS environment (eg FedRAMP)
Cisco Systems networking certification
Experience with: . Kubernetes . Ray.io . Temporal.io . AWS Copilot . Serverless framework . Go . C++ programming . CUDA . SLURM

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location.
