Position Overview

Autodesk Construction Solution (ACS) is looking for a hands-on, experienced Software Development Manager, who would provide technical leadership to a newly founded development team within the ACS Cost team in Autodesk. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team at Autodesk Bengaluru and develop world class cloud-based software products and solutions to solve interesting problems in the construction industry.

As you, you have managed a development team developing modern web applications and have demonstrated hands-on experience with DevOps and Observability tools. You are comfortable in an agile environment and know how to build and guide high-performing team. You will work with our developers, product managers and designers to deliver products to help our customers imagine bigger, collaborate smarter, move faster, and create the new possible. Most of all, you can inspire a team to do great things. You will report to senior manager and its a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to design critical components to benefit ACC Cost customers

• Create the technical strategy with hands-on leadership in arch and implementation

• Create an environment that empowers and energize team members, with focus on accountability and collaboration

• Guide and align technical strategy across divisions and interdependent teams

• Manage relationships with team members, engineers, and technical partners

• Be a technical promoter across all personnel at all levels

• Inspire, motivate, and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity, creativity and efficiency

• Translate customer, business, and technical requirements into deliverables aligned with team member needs

Minimum Qualification

• MS or equivalent in Computer Science

• 8+ years software development experience

• Experience developing scalable, resilient, distributed applications

• HTTP-based API design

• Build, deploy, and orchestration of containerized workloads

• Event driven systems, message queues

• Distributed data stores, caching, and eventual consistency

• Observability at scale: monitoring, log aggregation

• Proven hands-on experience in the industry involved in designing and developing SaaS and web applications

• Collaborative, respectful and thoughtful leader who is interested to work in a diverse and global team

• Experience with Agile, XP, and Scrum

• Expertise in one or more of: Java, C#, Javascript/NodeJS, Ruby/JRuby, Golang, Scala, C++

• AWS: EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora, SQS

• Kubernetes and/or Amazon ECS

• Monitoring solutions (e.g.: statsd/graphite, Prometheus, DataDog, New Relic, Dynatrace, etc)

• Logs aggregation: Splunk

• Experience handing gradual system refactoring
