Position Overview

Autodesk, the leading Design and Make Software Company, is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join the Autodesk Platform Services Engineering team in Toronto, Canada. On this position, you will report to Senior Manager, Software Development in Toronto, Ontario, and you will play a significant role in building core components and services for the next generation of APS (Autodesk Platform Services), which powers Autodesk SaaS applications in industries of manufacturing, architecture, engineering and construction, media and entertainment with efficient and flexible data management capabilities.

This role is hybrid. Autodesk supports FLEX working model.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering teams, Product Managers and Software Architects to shape technical solutions to manage product data for business objectives

• Implement the tech solutions in iterations from design, to code, testing and deployment with engineering disciplines for resiliency, scalability and security compliance

• Ensure standards, processes, and best practices are efficient, and documented

• Collaborate with partners to understand requirements, understand use cases and build towards a cohesive technical strategy

• Communicate tech solutions and project status with your partners

• Work with SRE to guarantee the SLOs (Service Level Objectives)

• Improve system performance with optimizations

• Trouble shoot and fix customer reported issues

• Participate in on-call rotation

Minimum Qualifications

• BS. or MS. degree in Computer Science or related technical field

• 5+ years of software development experience, at least 3 years with service development

• Solid programming skills with Java for service development

• Trouble shooting and performance tuning skills

• Experience of large-scale software system development

• Experience in Continuous Delivery methodologies and tools

• Hands-on knowledge in building SaaS or PaaS solutions on AWS

• Hands-on knowledge in search or database technologies, such Elastic Search

• Collaboration skills and teamwork spirit
