Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Manager (DBA)

Location: Bengaluru, IN (Hybrid)

We are looking for an experienced and Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Manager to lead our database administration team. You will have a proven track record in managing diverse database environments, encompassing both cloud and on-premises. You will oversee the design, implementation, performance, security, and cost optimization of our critical database infrastructure, ensuring seamless data replication across heterogeneous systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of database administrators, encouraging a culture of collaboration, continuous learning

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-based (AWS RDS MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB) and on-premises (Oracle, MSSQL) database systems

• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to scalability

• Collaborate with software development teams to understand database requirements and provide solutions

• Design and manage data replication processes across cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring data consistency and integrity

• Maintain comprehensive backup and recovery plans to minimise data loss and downtime.

• Implement and enforce stringent security measures to safeguard sensitive data from unauthorised access or breaches

• Analyse database licencing models and cloud resource use to improve costs and maximise value

• Develop relationships with database vendors (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle, Microsoft) to stay informed about the latest technologies and best practices

• Contribute to the development of IT strategies related to database infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business goals
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a DBA, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud database services, and Oracle and MSSQL on-premises databases

• In-depth knowledge of database administration principles, data replication methodologies, and database security best practices. Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)

• Comprehensive understanding of database licensing models (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft) and cloud pricing structures. Experience in database cost optimization

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• AWS Certified Database - Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Expert (highly preferred)
