Position Overview
As an Engineering Manager, at Autodesk, you will lead a team of software engineers to translate customer needs into technical solutions. You will work independently and collaboratively with peers to ensure that solutions are built with a long-term vision and align with enterprise platform requirements. You will also provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the team, driving Agile, DevOps, and Reliability practices. You will report to Senior leadership and it is a hybrid work model. You will work from Bangalore location.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software systems
Utilize your expert industry knowledge and broad understanding of multiple disciplines to create outcomes for customers
Facilitate team collaboration sessions, providing technical expertise and removing technical roadblocks
Advocate for the development of innovative concepts in development, DevOps, automation, and testing
Ensure the team delivers high-quality code following best practices, such as peer code reviews, code standards, unit testing, and test-driven development
Conduct code and document reviews, mentoring the team in best practices
Resolve critical incidents and proactively addressing product issues
Continuously assess technology to build more stable, scalable, and resilient software
Collaborate with business and technical product owners to interpret and translate business needs into technical requirements
Recommend tools and processes to ensure and performance
Troubleshoot code-level problems quickly and efficiently
Apply deep technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problems
Focus on scalability, security, and availability of all applications and processes
Design and architect solutions to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software
Contribute to risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture
Contribute to the technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resources, and quality constraints
Improve team processes and validate scope estimations
Collaborate with management and executives to build data-informed business strategy for the team
Mentor and help engineers to build their career paths while also jumping into the code
Set and fulfil the engineering hiring plan for the team, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing
Maintain high quality, performance and availability of services managed
Build healthy inclusive teams promoting diversity
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
10+ years of hands-on experience developing scalable, distributed applications
Experience in one or more of the tech stacks and tools that includes AWS, Python, Java etc
Experience with Serverless architectures, APIs, and AI models.
Understanding of data, security, and software architecture best practices, patterns, and technologies
Experience with Scrum and Agile development processes and methodologies
Familiarity with version and revision control practices
Experience with frequent and on-demand releases through the use of modern CI/CD tools
Experience working with large-scale enterprise organisations
Excellent analytical skills with a strong ability to solve problems
Solid Experience working with product management to agree on goals and risks
