Objectives of the Position

Reporting to the Director, BM Butanediol and Derivatives Asia Pacific, you will:

  • Manage Polytetrahydrofuran (PolyTHF) related business
  • Lead operative business with Asia Pacific country sales team for PolyTHF

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and Product Strategy

  • Develop and execute appropriate product strategy for business unit, and communicate key measures to sub-regions/countries
  • Provide support on product and application communication tools as and when required
  • Act as regional stakeholder of key account management for global accounts

Portfolio Management

  • Partner with relevant production sites to influence appropriate product allocation and support the market needs in Asia
  • Manage regional product levels for both captive and external sales demand
  • Ensure regional production in sustainable operations (cost management, plant utilization etc.)
  • Monitor manufacturing cost and its step costs with full understanding of margin development
  • Support global product management community to implement product strategy in Asia

Pricing Management and Planning

  • Define and implement regional product pricing policy
  • Propose pricing action and implement action with country sales team and Global/Regional Key Account management
  • Maintain CPQ and OMP systems with target/limit prices and manage pricing exceptions in discussion with countries
  • Develop communication packages for sales team on price negotiation with customer
  • Provide monthly forecast to local sales team for production planning and controlling
  • Evaluate service levels and related supply chain requirements for assigned product group
  • Manage inventory levels and costs with countries and supply chain

Market Intelligence and Innovation

  • Actively build upon existing market intelligence and track for changes in market dynamics
  • Communicate on product and market intelligence with countries
  • Develop and update cost benchmarks in collaboration with production/technology
  • Identify new application ideas, develop data package and commercial plan for new applications in close cooperation with Business Development
  • Develop marketing communication concept
  • Analyse market data related to new applicants

Sustainability

  • Lead PolyTHF sustainability initiatives in Asia (i.e., low product carbon footprint, biomass balance, bio-based products)
  • Develop marketing concept globally with implementation in Asia Pacific
  • Key PolyTHF sustainability and as a single point of contact for Asia Pacific (information, concept, market intelligence, technical expertise)
  • Drive sales and marketing measures in Asia Pacific, along the value chain, especially the brands and end-users
  • Provide guidance and coaching in sustainability to regional and countries teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Business or related disciplines is preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in Sales and Marketing, preferably in commodity business under Chemical/Plastic industry
  • Good command of English, with proficiency in Mandarin as an added advantage
