In agile teams, we develop innovative digital solutions for BASF and its customers, create exciting new customer experiences and business growth, and drive efficiencies in processes. We provide IT that works and offer know-how and access to latest technologies in the areas of cloud computing, blockchain or big data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Extend our agile DevOps team in "Enterprise Search"
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications (possibly customer contact)
• Implement technical specifications.
• Design and develop search applications based on BASF's standard search technology Sinequa.
• Create and enhance web frontends for search applications using modern web technologies and the recent framework versions of Angular, Bootstrap and SCSS, TypeScript.
• Drive for sustainable solutions based on standards by using code control, using automated testing, performing re-occurring updates of associated libraries and frameworks.
• Monitor and continuously improve existing search applications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Excellent written and verbal English language skills (business fluent / expert).
• Team player with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to foster a positive and energized culture
• Excellent judgement. Able to weigh several and often conflicting constraints and make rapid, logical decisions in a fast-moving company.
• A growth mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve.
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in working with modern web technologies.
• Web development with current frameworks Angular, Bootstrap, CSS, etc.
• Web development in complex Enterprise application scenarios with a modern, layered architecture.
• UX design and layout for web-based applications including responsiveness.
• Backlog & code management tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.
• Knowledge of application lifecycle, change/release management process.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies like Scrum.

Nice to have:

• Search engine technologies (preferably Sinequa, otherwise Elastic Search, Ap.ache Solr, Lucene, etc.)
• Enterprise Content Management Systems (e.g. Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
• Database technologies (preferably Oracle, otherwise MS SQL, mySQL, etc.).
• Ability to work in a multicultural team spread across the globe.
