  • You will be part of an international team of computational scientists working on cutting-edge scientific tools.
  • You will be developing state-of-the-art and intuitive applications with a high need for stability and continuity for larger user groups in research and development departments. The apps will allow users to easily manage and analyze their data and access models or algorithms.
  • You will be working in an agile and self-organized way within a small DevOps team and collaborate for implementation of projects across different competencies. You not only consider development of new applications but also operations and maintenance as a valuable part of your daily work.
  • You will develop and maintain frontends, standalone microservices and full-stack web applications that process scientific biological data.
  • You will use modern development technologies, including version control for code and data, CI/CD pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes deployments, and cloud environments.


  • You have a master's or bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Biology background is a plus. Internal
  • You are a specialist (with profound experience) in IT technologies like Python3 and frameworks like FastAPI, Django, Django Rest Framework, Flask, Microservices, and developing cloud-native applications.
  • You are familiar with relational SQL (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases.
  • Experience with data management, provenance and versioning is considered a plus
  • Experience with frontend technologies like Vue3 or Nuxt3, and development within a microservice architecture is a plus
  • Experience in ECharts, D3.js, and data visualization is considered a plus
  • You have experience in DevOps elements (e.g. unit testing, version control with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, containerization).
  • You have a high ability to work in a structured and precise manner.
  • You possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
