Our team “Value Chain Optimization” develops innovative solutions to derive insights from data that support better and faster business decisions. We implement data-driven solutions in its complete lifecycle for users in supply chain management around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As the product owner, you will steer team activities for jointly developing supply chain and network optimization solutions.
  • You will be responsible for mathematical modelling of BASF supply chains to allow for scenario considerations of material flows / cost / profits / emissions in BASF supply networks on a mid-term to long-term planning level.
  • You will coordinate collaboration with operating divisions and central service units and facilitate the network optimization user community.
  • You will translate requirements of business functions like supply chain, marketing and production into supply chain and network optimization.
  • You will support internal business partners to estimate efforts for projects and provide user trainings about optimization solutions.
  • You will contribute to technology evaluations for adjusting solution architecture according to corporate platform decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Master degree in the field of information technology, (industrial) engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, operations research, physics or related discipline with at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • A Bachelor degree in the field of information technology, (industrial) engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, operations research or related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • You have good mathematical modelling skills and ideally a background in operations research (mathematical modelling and optimization techniques)
  • Alternatively, you have extensive experience in Supply Chain Network Optimization Tools (e.g. AIMMS SC Navigator, Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru, 4Flow, …)
  • You show a high interest in applying quantitative methods and in developing sustainable digital business solutions.
  • At least 2 years of experience in applying mathematical optimization in an industrial setting or at least 2 years of experience in the field of data modelling, data validation and translating user requirements into a mathematical-driven digital solution.
  • Business consulting and technical consulting skills, with a good organizational awareness.
  • An innovation minded and entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to contribute to a positive and energized culture.
  • A growth mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • You can demonstrate fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written).

NICE TO HAVE

  • Good knowledge of relevant standard reporting & supply chain planning data and systems, e.g. SAP APO, OM Partners
  • Basic knowledge on data bases and data retrieving tools (SQL, Python, or similar)
  • Basic knowledge in data analytics & visualization tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau
  • Experience working in agile (incl. Azure DevOps) with a DevOps mindset.
  • Good understanding on challenges in change management.
