WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

The unit "Digitalization of Site Logistics Management & Operations" supports BASF's divisions in responding to logistical challenges and issues with digital solutions. You will belong to an international and multidisciplinary agile DevOps team in charge of transforming the operations of BASF sites by applying consulting and latest technologies, including mobile applications, IoT devices, cloud computing, among others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

End-to-End responsibility and accountability on building up a product that balances a good level of standardization and scalability with a reasonable level of customization.
Consultancy
o Translates functional requirements into technical specifications
o Leverage the business/process knowledge in the teams and define the best technical design of new functionalities
o Drive for sustainable solutions
o Leverages the use of standard functionalities to reduce non-standard development
Development
o Implement new SAP/UI5 applications leveraging Fiori methodology and guidelines
o Leverage a third-party ABAP–based solution as foundation to enhance the overall solution by building the applications on top.
o Handle global as well as site specific releases according to pre-defined release management processes.
o Implement the backend integrations with the Yard Management ABAP product foundation.
Quality assurance
o Perform Unit testing to ensure a high quality of the code delivered
o Support PO’s with the functional testing and the UAT
o Automate regression tests
Collaboration
o Leverage multicultural and geographically distributed team to build up the best solution
o Collaborate in a global team of technical and functional experts.
o Drive innovation on how to keep enhancing the product
o Active participation in designing a global yard logistics template for BASF
o Play key role as technical expert in yard management and Subject Matter Expert for SAP Cloud and Gateway Applications

QUALIFICATIONS

SAP
o 3+ years’ experience in SAP Fiori and/or SAPUI5 design/development
o 3+ years’ experience in working as SAP technical consultant or similar role
o 1+ years’ experience in SAP Cloud technology
o Knowledge of the SAP Fiori user experiences (UX) concept as well as SAP Fiori Client and Launchpad.
o Excellent judgement. Able to weigh several and often conflicting constraints and make rapid, logical decisions in a fast-moving company.
Learning
o Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, physics or related, from an accredited college or university
Soft skills
o A growth mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve.
o Team player with strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
o Advanced English skills

NICE TO HAVE

SAP
o Experience as ABAP developer is highly valued.
o Experience as SAP Technical consultant
o Experience in TM and/or WM modules is a plus.
Other technical skills
o Experience with test automation
o Experience with Git versioning development model
o Knowledge of application lifecycle, change/release management process
Industry experience
o Experience in logistics or chemical industry is a plus.
Other skills
o Experience in running IT solutions as products
o Experience working in Agile environments within frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or extreme programming.
o Knowledge of core lean practices: Kaizen, 5 Why’s, Value Stream mapping.
o Knowledge of Jira/ MS Azure is a plus
o Ability to work efficiently under pressure on non-routine and highly complex tasks.
o Experience in working in global / virtual teams / projects
o Ability to work in a multicultural team spread across the globe.
