Summary:
Within the Group Data Office as part of BASF’s Data & AI Powerhouse, we drive BASF’s overall Data Management and contribute to the convenient, efficient, and compliant data usage within BASF. We deliver services all around Data Product creation, Data Strategy, Data Governance and Projects. Providing data as Data Products and organizing data in Domains enables colleagues across the organization to create value.
Responsibilities and Key Activities:
- You are responsible to create data products for the BASF group that are of use for business stakeholders.
- You understand the business user needs and hands-on combine the right data to fulfil the need for a data product, taking into account the required consumption method, frequency etc.
- You help business stakeholders share, distribute, and consume data in a structured, governed, and harmonious way.
- In the process of setting up our federated group-wide Data Organization, you act as role model and train further Data Product Owners on their role and execution.
- You collaborate closely with Data Domain Owners and Data Owners to ensure consistent, correct and fast Data Product creation.
- You play a crucial role in improving our concepts of Data Product execution and the infrastructure development of the Data Ecosystem by providing feedback and suggesting new options.
- In a dynamic environment you quickly adopt and promote new technologies.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, with minimal 5 years of professional experience.
Technical & Professional Knowledge (mandatory):
- Strong understanding of data transformation processes and the ability to manage data quality.
- Proficiency in programming for data extraction, metadata management, and API creation.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices for ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business user needs, communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and manage their expectations effectively.
