Objectives:
Our unit ‘Digital Commerce & Advisory China’ focuses on providing BASF businesses in Greater China with eCommerce solutions ranging from marketplaces, web shops and order automations to direct integrations. With these and other solutions we aim to provide BASF customers with a seamless digital customer experience.

Through our advisory activities we help BASF businesses identify customer needs and improvement potentials along the customer journey. Moreover, we consult in finding and support in implementing the most suitable solution for customers and/or businesses. With our development & operations (DevOps) activities we create business solutions for the Chinese market. We develop localized business services as well as portals / frontends based on our composable business service architecture.

Main Task:
- Translate business requirement into IT concepts & solutions with technical know-how
- Design solution architectures for eCommerce business solutions based on our composable business service architecture
- Align designs with internal business partners (internal customer), within our product family, other DevOps teams (e.g. Master Data, SAP, ...) and relevant departments (e.g. cyber security, cloud governance, etc.)
- Ensure code quality by defining and adhering to coding conventions and development guidelines
- Ensure the cloud & application security of solution by BASF standards
- Promote the use of BASF guidelines, standards and tools within the DevOps team
- Develop a roadmap for our global & local eCommerce solutions in China including cloud and frontend strategies
- Closely collaborate with and contribute to the global solution architect community of our product family
- Support & technically guide the product implementation and hands-on implementation
- Provide an outside-in view of eCommerce tools, technologies & technical trends
- Execute studies in preliminary stages of projects, including evaluation of existing or new solutions
- Coordinate and execute prototyping, configuration and testing of solutions
- Support the change management, training and operation of ecommerce business solutions

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in information systems, computer science or similar field
- Work experience in a MNC company preferred
- Work experience in a B2B, process or chemical industry preferred
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in development teams and/or solution architecture role
- Strong development expertise in Java, Spring Boot framework, JavaScript, Angular, XML, HTML, CSS
- Familiar with API management and web services (e.g. REST, OData, GraphQL)
- Implementation experiences in multiple global and/or China-based cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure / 21 Vianet, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud)
- Ability to translate business requirements into generic, re-usable technical designs & architectures, familiar with architectural principles
- References of own solution designs

- Experiences with agile work methodologies (like scrum, kanban, design thinking, …) and/or classic project management approaches
- Familiar with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, …)
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication & collaboration skills
- High degree of customer orientation
- Strong creative / innovative mindset, analytical skills and entrepreneurial drive
- Willing to learn and venture into new technologies and trends
- Used to work in a self-organized way in a fast-paced

Nice to have:
- Implementation experiences on WeChat / WeCom platforms (integration with other systems)
- Experiences in Magnolia, Salesforce, commercetools
- Experiences in SAP in R/3 and/or S/4HANA, esp. Order-to-Cash (SD) processes
- Experiences in China eCommerce platforms (e.g. 1688.com, JD, Tmall, …)
- Experiences in implementing AI technologies in solutions
- Familiar with AI-supported development
- Familiar with UI/UX principles and tools (Figma)
- Familiar with cloud and application security principles
- Experiences in eCommerce and/or sales, customer service, marketing processes
