Global Digital Services (GD) focuses on digital solutions for BASF's service units. It is responsible for driving and promoting the digitalization of all services, as well as the automation of processes at a global level, the management and coordination of ERP systems, and the newly created Digital Hubs. Thanks to the implementation of a modern infrastructure that aims to have nearly 100% of our applications in the cloud over the next decade, GD enables our business colleagues and the BASF service team to create their own solutions using user-friendly platforms.

Main Objective of the Position:

With our team Procurement - embedded in the product family "Finance and Procurement", we deliver various solutions worldwide. As part of an agile DevOps team, you will independently drive the further development of the BASF solution into a central platform based on microservices and different frontend channels.

Main Tasks:

• Responsible for reviewing UI / UX designs, taking technical decisions and taking care of their technical implementation in a suitable state-of-the-art technology stack which you need to choose / introduce.
• Developing according to modern coding, security and tool standards and implementing front-end architecture.
• Monitoring and improving frontend performance.
• Observe technical innovations and evaluate them in terms of their usefulness for the platform.

Requirements for the Position:

• Education: Graduates or advanced students of Software Engineering, Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Telematics Engineering, Information Technology Analyst (or related careers).
• Working Experience:
  • At least 5 years’ experience working as a frontend developer.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with Vue (or React).
• Language Skills: Advanced language skills in English
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced skills / professional knowledge in UI-Design and Design Methodology
  • Advanced skills / professional knowledge in Web-technology (HTML5, JavaScript, TypeScript)
  • Advanced skills / professional knowledge in CSS and extensions like SCSS
  • Advanced skills / professional knowledge of JavaScript frameworks as e.g., Vue.js (preferred) or React, and libraries (e.g., Pinia)
  • Advanced skills / professional knowledge in accessibility & UX
  • basic knowledge in PrimeVue (Vue libraries)
  • understanding of performance optimization techniques and tools.
  • Basic knowledge in unit testing for JavaScript, experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress
  • Basic knowledge in integration testing
  • Basic knowledge in IDE VS Code, IDE JetBrains IntelliJ
  • Basic knowledge of agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban)
  • basic knowledge in Agile Tools (e.g., Confluence, Azure DevOps)
