Objectives of the Position

Our product, Operational Environment, Health & Safety, implements operational environmental, health and safety standards to ensure the "License to Operate“. We create a global digital solution portfolio for operational environmental, health and safety solutions. Our focus is on production safety incorporating all environmental, health and safety aspects related to manufacturing.

We are looking for a highly dynamic, motivated, and collaborative person to join our team. We are focused on the modernization of legacy systems and development of new capabilities of digital solutions in the Operational EHS domain. There is a growing global need within BASF to leverage digitalization to continue BASF’s journey of EHS excellence and continuously improving our capabilities especially through digitalization.

Main Tasks

• As Product Manager Operational EHS Services, you will be leading a global cross-functional team consisting of specialists that provide services and support for development and solutions teams (e.g. project manager, scrum masters, developers, infrastructure engineers, application engineers, test automation engineers and others)
• You team will be providing services such as project management; technical services (e.g. infrastructure or test automation to modular development teams); and implementation and application support to Solution Engineers and site users.
• Your team will be supporting the successful and on-time delivery of platform enhancements and module development according to the priorities of the stakeholder community and strategic target picture of the product.
• Together with the Product Owner and in collaboration with other Product Managers in the EHS domain, you will actively drive the services and support, and continuous improvement of your product portfolio based on the needs of your global communities.
• You will collaborate with other leaders within the organization to identify and realize synergies across different elements of the company portfolio, including technical consultation on product strategy and roadmap.
• You will drive the agile transformation of your product team and support your team members on their learning journey as well as the career coaching and development for your functional reports.
• You will be actively involved in the organizational development of the whole product family and be part of an agile leadership team.
• You will use your strong interpersonal skills to ensure quality internal customer service, and collaborate effectively with a global development team using agile development methodologies and tools.

Requirements

Education & Working Experience

• Degree of computer science, engineering, or any comparable education with 7+ years’ experiences in agile software or product development, preferably at large scales

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Experience in large-scale IT projects in similar capacity or role as Product Manager
• Domain knowledge in engineering, maintenance or plant operations with good understanding of the related processes and business needs
• 5+ years’ experience in team leadership and supervision
• Able to independently size software development tasks and support assignment and prioritization efforts if needed
• Strong customer focus, act entrepreneurially and develop creative and innovative solutions.
• Strong communication and change management skills
• Agile mindset and experience with agile ways of working
• Being a team player and a servant leader
• Fluency in spoken and written English
