Objectives:
Within Global Digital Factory ECO, G-ECO/MD, you will be responsible for development as part of a DevOps team. The team develops applications which are used in a shared way by both BASF and our external customers.
Main Task:
- You will be delivering both Intranet and Internet applications to improve BASF’s services towards our customers.
- You will be working in an agile and self-organized way. You not only consider development of new applications but also operations and maintenance as a valuable part of your daily work.
- You are part of a dedicated team, which has built itself a platform to efficiently develop, maintain and enhance their delivered applications. Part of your daily job will be to drive the future development and innovation of this platform with regards to user requirement according to modern coding, security and tool standards.
Job Requirements:
- You have a degree or a comparable education in the field of computer and information science.
- Minimum 3+ years
- You have already acquired professional experience in an IT environment.
- You are a specialist for the IT technologies Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot. In-depth knowledge of OAuth2, Maven, PostgreSQL, JPA / Hibernate, REST APIs, Microservices and developing cloud-native applications (MS Azure) is required.
- You should have at least basic experience with regards to Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, Terraform, Azure DevOps.

Digital Hub China was founded in 2020 in Nanjing. As part of the Global Digital Hub Verbund, the hub is rapidly growing with a target of a three-digit number of employees in coming years. Focused on digitalization and innovative IT solutions to enhance BASF’s IT portfolio and expertise in China, it brings an all-around capable team of digital talents to create solutions in the context of China’s unique digital landscape to BASF. It also contributes to the smart manufacturing endeavors for the new mega project in Zhanjiang.
