Objectives:
Our team “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions for Supply Chains” develops innovative solutions to derive insights from data that support better and faster business decisions. We implement data-driven solutions in its complete lifecycle for users in supply chain management around the world.
We are looking for a Digital Platform Engineer with focus on Quality Assurance to support the stable performance of our new Generative AI-based web application for Supply Chain and Logistics.
- As a Digital Platform Engineer with focus on Quality Assurance for our AI-based web application, you will create and maintain applications having in-depth knowledge of quality assurance and test engineering for Web applications.
- Special focus is to develop and adjust the quality and performance of the web application to support a stable Web application.
- In this role, you will discuss quality assurance and test procedures with the development team and write the code for the final application. You will continuously improve and optimize web applications to enhance their performance, accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- You can test and maintain applications using Java and Java framework, SQL and distributed systems.
- You will collaborate intensively with frontend and backend developers as well as data engineers.
- You demonstrate responsibility for central code versioning in Azure DevOps, git, and / or git bash shell.
- You will collaborate with the frontend team to provide stable APIs and services.
- You will participate in database design and optimization to ensure data security and consistency.
Main Task:
- Work in close alignment with the other project team members and stakeholders to fully understand background and business requirements of each party and consult them in their activities.
- Translate the collected business requirements into technical concepts, especially regarding the quality assurance and test procedures.
- Support the development of innovative and data driven supply chain solutions with knowledge on Java, Java framework, SQL and distributed systems.
- Drive the sustainable implementation of AI Solutions for Supply Chains, including:
o Professional web application development by utilizing BASF standard DevOps platform and libraries.
o Construction, deployment, and implementation of the web application backend on Microsoft Azure Cloud.
o Maintaining infrastructure as code
- Work in an international and agile DevOps environment and you apply agile principles for setting priorities and managing multiple stakeholders in a challenging business environment.
- You ensure an efficient collaboration with global and regional BASF service units in both project delivery as well as service and support.
- In your role, you support the transition from project phase to successful operations for the new Supply Chain Intelligence platform.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor or master's in information technology or an engineering degree in software engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Working Experience: 2+ years professional implementation experience in software engineering / development
- Experience in Agile way of working or agile implementation approach (SCRUM, KANBAN)
- Good Communication & Presentations skills
- Experience in web application development including Microsoft Azure cloud components for backend development.
- Excellent programming skills in Java with solid foundation, proficient in common Java frameworks.
- Expert on database technology such as MySQL, SQL-Server; Having good understanding on SQL optimization.
- Familiar with distributed technology, expert on Micro-services, Docker, Caches and Messaging systems etc.
- Familiar with agile environment (scrum).
- Comfortable working in highly complex environment with multiple stakeholders and with strong pressure to deliver on time and on budget.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to foster a positive and energized culture.
- A growth mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve.
- Team player with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Business Travel to Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, will be required (3-4 times per year)

- Experience with backend architecture
- Proven track record of successful AI-driven projects, preferably in an industrial setting
