We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Intermediates team in Houston, TX or Florham Park, NJ.

With more than 600 products in its portfolio, in particular amines, diols, polyalcohols, acids and specialties, the Intermediates division offers innovative solutions for a wide range of industries – from coatings and plastics to pharmaceuticals and crop protection.
Reporting to the Business Director at our Florham Park or Houston Energy Tower offices, you will successfully optimize two manufacturing assets within the Standard Amines portfolio. Acting as the key interface to Sales, Customer Care, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, R&D, Product Stewardship and Legal in North America (US, Mexico, Canada), you will be an active team player optimizing the profitability of your product portfolio, which represents currently ca. $60M sales based on assets at our biggest North American production site at Geismar, LA, and select imports from production facilities abroad as defined in our Import Strategy.
As a Product Manager - Standard Amines, you create chemistry by...
- Managing the product portfolio such that it earns a premium on the cost of capital. While developing plans for investment projects to support market growth according to the SBU strategy.
- Being responsible for product pricing and margin management; i.e. pricing strategy, applied pricing models, costs analysis, and budget planning.
- Understanding the regional market structure’s economics, growth, trends, opportunities, value chain, customers and competitive environment.
- Implementing and managing the regional development, and commercial strategies for product portfolio; i.e. product positioning and business plan development and execution.
- Guiding the sales force relative to product pricing and positioning, contract negotiations, competitive/market information, crisis management, customer/product action plans, and customer communications to align with the business/product strategies.
- Actively driving continuous improvements of cost, production, quality, supply chain, and service levels focused on competitiveness, financial performance, and operational excellence.
- Driving product portfolio management, including launching, repositioning, quality, packaging, management of change, and withdrawal. Supporting innovation processes for the product portfolio.
- Working with the Customer Care, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, and Regulatory organizations to successfully deliver business plan targets. Coordinating with the Supply Chain team to achieve operational strategies relative to demand planning (APO), product allocation, and inventory management.
- Following up on new leads and opportunities, prioritize projects and commercialize projects to bring new sales each year.
- Managing the distribution network, including identifying and selecting the right distribution partners, financial target setting, training and technical service as needed to help them succeed.
If you...
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or closely related field.
- Possess 7+ years of industry experience in Marketing, Sales or Product Management. Along with strong skills relative to project coordination, time management, multi-tasking, and delivering on commitments.
- Have a solid understanding of supply chain principles and systems.
- Possess excellent analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills.
- Count with a solid business and financial acumen and deep knowledge of value chains in markets served by the chemical industry.
- Are able to work collaborating across the organization utilizing your interpersonal communication skills such as: negotiation, influencing, presentation, reporting.
