Objectives:
Our team “Data and AI China” develops innovative platforms and solutions to derive insights from data that support better and faster business decisions. We implement end to end solutions in their complete lifecycles and provide comprehensive services in various domains for BASF China business partners.
In your role as Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing our new data and AI applications for internal business partners in BASF China.
- Support BASF China internal business partners by implementing Data Science and AI-driven solutions / applications
- Ensure an efficient collaboration with global and regional digital experts, in both solutions designing, project delivery as well as service and support
- Actively identify new technologies and opportunities from China ecosystem for continuous development of innovative and value adding solutions
Main Task:
- Work in close alignment with team members and stakeholders to fully understand background and business requirements of each party and consult them in their activities
- Translate the collected business requirements into technical concepts, especially regarding the application and software architecture
- In charge of development of innovative and data/AI driven solutions with first class UI/UX application frontend, scalable/maintainable/reliable backend, and cloud native architecture.
- Drive the sustainable implementation of data and AI solutions, including:
o Professional UI/UX design and implementation by utilizing BASF standard DevOps platform and libraries
o Construction, deployment, and implementation of microservices on the Microsoft Azure Cloud and AliYun
o Data science related aspects, especially data visualization, big data / data lake technologies (nice to have)
- Provide expertise in the technical stack development of complex scenarios / workflows such as collaborative problem solving
- Manage communication with external vendors to validate the landscape design & integration concept
- Validate the concepts in pilot projects (Proof of Concept)
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor or master's in information technology studies or an engineering degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 4+ years professional implementation experience in software engineering / development
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in working as full stack engineer
- Experience in agile methodologies and tools (Github, Gitlab, Microsoft Azure DevOps).
- At least 4 years of software development experience with
o Node.js, java SpringBoot with relational database (MySql, PostgreSql) and NoSQL databases, API development and consuming
o VUE3, Angular, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML/CSS, responsive design
- At least a year of software engineering experience with
o Experience constructing, developing, and implementing
microservices
o Maintaining infrastructure as code
o Experience working on a DevOps team
o Experience with configuring and deploying on the Microsoft Azure Cloud and AliYun
- Has data intensive application and architecture experience
- Has a firm understanding with design principles such as SOLID, DRY, and OOPS
- Exhibits an architectural mindset toward problem solving
- Good Communication & Presentations skills
- Fluent (active contribution and participation in discussion including technical topics and terms) in English and Chinese is essential.

Digital Hub China was founded in 2020 in Nanjing. As part of the Global Digital Hub Verbund, the hub is rapidly growing with a target of a three-digit number of employees in coming years.
