What to expect:

• Our 20-month Digital Trainee Programme will give you insights into the various activities that take place in Digital Hub Kuala Lumpur.
• You will familiarize yourself with various topics across various systems, and how it works in the larger BASF landscape.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of unit-specific and cross-unit tasks.
• After just a short time, you will assume responsibility for exciting projects or subprojects.
• You will be assigned to four rotations, each lasting approximately five months each.
• Upon successful completion of your rotations, you will have the opportunity to do an all-expense paid rotation in Germany, to expand your network and further develop your intercultural skills.

Responsibilities

You will get to know the area of digitalization of technology and production in BASF’s IT department focusing on inhouse developed solutions, like Manufacturing Shiftbook, highly integrated as part of the Operations Platform.

As a full-stack developer, you will be part of a global, multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of a broader, integrated Operations Platform used daily at BASF production facilities. We work based on agile methodologies with responsibilities defined during sprint planning phases.

You will be expected to deliver high quality, on-time software packages based on your prior experience with the same technology stack. Your work packages may focus on front-end and back-end development based on your ambitions and the needs of the team. At the end, your own software developments create value in projects and for the production plants.

In addition, you will provide high-quality service and support for the product you develop and also test the software components accordingly. You will develop yourself and others in the area of software development by learning from others on the team.

Requirements

• If you have experience in Back-End on Java / Spring Boot OR Front-End Angular / Javascript
• Basic PostgreSQL database implementation skills OR any SQL language
• Experience in issue identification, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
• Good learning aptitude, a positive attitude and a growth mindset.
• You can communicate clearly and authentically in English (spoken and written).
• You like to work in an international/global team.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DevOps tools for development, release and monitoring
• Experience working with cloud technologies
• UI/UX design capabilities
