Specialist – Dangerous Goods & Customs Classification

Responsibilities of Job

Main Tasks:

  • Contact for all Customs Classification Requests and Dangerous Goods requests in Asia Pacific
  • Performance of article release for Asia Pacific
  • Packaging consulting for Asia Pacific
  • Performance of local customs classification for Asia Pacific countries of products, raw materials and merchandize build
  • Monitor and analyze relevant DG and customs regulations for all Asian countries and ensure timely implementation of compliant processes
  • Support the review and enhancement of DG and Customs Classification processes, focusing on simplification and digitalization
  • Participate actively in the global Dangerous Goods and Customs Classification communities
  • Providing training / information to competent colleagues in Supply Chain / Sales / Procurement

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in natural science (chemical engineering, chemistry or comparable)
  • 8-10 years of experience in chemical industry or related
  • Expert knowledge of Customs Classification and Dangerous Goods proven by necessary certifications (IMDG, IATA)
  • Strong knowledge in SAP EHS and GTS; beneficial other SAP modules like TM, OTC
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Strong interest in automation tools and data-driven insights
