Main Tasks:
Implement good color matching development work:
- Implement whole color matching process from injection molding to sample preparation by compounding at R&D
- Ensure good color matching results and speedy timeline to match customer project requirements
- Ensure that the PTO of new colored products will be highly successful and make minor color tuning on site
- Implement specific color test asked by customer like ageing and damp heat color change test at R&D
- Prepare reports, presentation and documents needed for timely updates of all project activities.
- Ensure proper documentations of all color development R&D activities and timely updates of reports, formulations into required database.
Develop new colorants and coloring technology:
- Support ensuring technical progress of innovation projects are on right track & time required by market
- Train color specialist and other colleagues in the region and master batch suppliers, toller if necessary
- Monitor technology trend, new applications, and competitor movement in the area of coloring applications
Technical Support to teams on color topics:
- Support marketing, technical development, sales and account manager on technical discussion on color grades development with customers.
- Support operation plants and Technical product management on color technical issues.
- Support and collaborate with R&D colleagues in other regions on color grades transfer and technical exchange discussions.
EHS:
- Ensure the occupational, health and environment safety practices during the day-to-day operation in compliance with BASF and local country regulations.
- Direct responsibility for the safety of new chemicals/raw materials brought to the lab.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Fresh or 2 years of color matching experience with engineering plastics compounds.
- Excellent understanding how color changes based on type of polymer and additives based on various type of colorants.
- Good understanding of polymer process and properties, additives, fillers.
- Good understanding of EP applications in target industries.
