Objectives of the Position

Why does this position exist? With what permanent objectives?

The position of Regional Product Manager is responsible to ensure that the right product portfolio is available to contribute to our margin targets and enable growth. Maintain objectives is to ensure a competitive advantages by focusing on localization and prioritizing and driving saving measures. Moreover, the position is the key contributor for EC projects. Beside 4W OEM coatings business in India, the position is also responsible for 2-wheeler coatings business steering (product management) for ASEAN, Japan, and India

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities

  • Product Portfolio Management: Develop and implement technology toolbox to optimize products, drive consolidation, and facilitate knowledge sharing among countries. Steward project proposals and manage PhaseGate projects.
  • Strategic Marketing Projects: Lead marketing initiative for the Indian automotive market focused on profitable and sustainable growth. Conduct market analysis, optimize technology portfolios, and develop tailored product offerings.
  • Pricing Management: Define and implement regional pricing policies, propose pricing actions, and ensure adherence to KAM Business Rules for margin management.
  • Strategy Development: Build regional strategies for different coatings layers, define milestones, and promote collaboration across countries.
  • Business Development: Act as the key contact for 2W accounts, identify opportunities, and support business restructuring efforts.
  • Sales and Key Account Management: Drive growth and optimize sales turnover in the 2W segment, identifying areas for improvement and monitoring product performance. Recommend enhancements to sales and distribution efficiency in line with regional strategies.
  • Cross functional Collaboration with Customization Lab, global /regional Product Management, Technical Project management, Supply Chain, and Key Account Managers to ensure short- and long-term growth and profitability improvements across all coatings layers
  • Localization - Evaluate & implement localization of critical raw materials
  • Define organic measures for complexity reduction and profitability improvement, e.g. introduction of local sourcing, toll manufacturing of finished goods, raw materials and intermediates, consolidation of RMs/intermediates/Finished goods technologies etc.
  • Collaborate with Labs & Key Accounts Management for Introduction and Implementation of new products and technology like High Solids, low-cost mono coats

Job Requirements (minimum requirement to carry out the work)

Education

  • Incumbent should be preferably a postgraduate (Chemicals or related field)
  • A degree in Business Management will be an added advantage

Working Experience

  • The incumbent should have more than 15 years’ experience in Automotive or Chemicals sector. Experience in Leading teams preferred

Technical & Professional Knowledge

  • Knowledge of financial KPIs, with the ability to analyze P&L data and setup business cases
  • Knowledge in Coatings product formulations, applications, OEM specifications, raw materials and manufacturing process is preferred
