About The Role


- Coordinates team related topics, such as EHS, IT – topics, etc.
- Drives Development projects and topics within the water borne Basecoat & Primer technology and ensures know-how exchange and collaboration within the Coatings Business Unit globally./Regionally
- Makes sure that Phase gate Projects/Topics are managed on time, in budget guaranteeing proper milestone reviews
- Employing the fundamental understanding of Polymer Chemistry and -Physics to set up resin design targets together with the BC – resin team
- In depth knowledge of application related aspects for Basecoats and Primers, appearance aspects, performance requirement of coatings from different OEMs
- Actively presents information on Basecoat technology to internal and external customers and stakeholders globally as well as to suppliers
- Close collaboration with production department to make sure that we are employing the most efficient production
- Leads a technical team of 2 - 8 technicians operationally
- To Ensure compliance to all required Quality standards (IATF & etc.) and maintain certification Lead role in IATF audit to ensure no major NC
- Exercise a high level of good housekeeping and Health and Safety Awareness within the Lab and ensure others to do the same.


How You Will Do It


- Follow company policies including EHS, internal and external audit.
- Executing minimum 1 or more Phase gate projects/Topics as per agreed time line at a time
- Maintain effective coordination with Global /Regional technology community
- LEAN/Digital project proposal to improve efficiency & Data control
- Provide Training as and when required to customer & BASF Personnel in Basecoat / Primer aspects of Coating Technologies.
- Ensure compliance to Quality standards IATF, format document preparation for team
- Regular review of the related state of the art for Basecoats and Primer (patent & scientific / conferences literature) to be done and updated / presented in respective exchange meetings
- Training & Motivation to team members to bring up innovative Solutions
- Writes comprehensive reports and patents, also evaluations on data obtained from experimentation and, if necessary, orally/ present observations, conclusions and recommendations to persons in areas of the company's interests.
- Promotes know-how exchange and collaboration within Coatings Business Unit
- Develops self and team members.

What We Look For


- Education: Master in Technology/PhD Preferably in Polymer Chemistry or also Polymer Physics
- Minimum 8 years working experience in the field of Automotive OEM Coatings technology development for Master ; More than 5 years working experience for PhD
